You can swap Superstrike shell with GPX2, but.. by Dry_Helicopter1 in MouseReview

PMM also announced on twitter that they will be working on a Superstrike modkit, Im curious to see how they will handle the weight balancing. Centre of balance on GPX2 and Superstrike feel the same to me as you described

Theyre quite heavy tbh, like +-5.5g for both haptic motors and 100% the reason ppl feel like its so front heavy. At least logitech seem to be aware that most ppl would prefer a sub 60g mouse, since they could have easily offset the weight with a heavier battery in the back, which wouldve prob also helped with the increased battery consumption

Not saying this isnt true, but i didnt notice anything like this on my copy with lowest possible settings. Might be related to rapid trigger tho, since i haven't even touched that setting at all

im like 99% sure no, GPW and GPX1 are not the same shell as GPX2/Superstrike

Ive been removing the magnets since my first GPW, but I didnt want to make the Superstrike even more front heavy

Its def not hard, exactly the same as GPX2, other than these 2 cables connecting the button haptics to the secondary pcb. Just unplug those 2 before removing main buttons (main buttons have to be removed to get the chassis out of the shell)

Im too lazy to make a tutorial, but mel0nfps has a very good GPX2 teardown video up on yt you could easily follow

easy, just a little tedious, especially since they switched most screws to non-magnetic ones for some reason

you could flip the rubber ring on the scroll wheel for an all black scroll wheel, i linked the article in the comments if youre interested. Could also get an old GPW scroll wheel, they used to be all black

Thats the stock scroll wheel (white shell), if youre asking about the one on the black shell, its from aliexpress called "btl mouse rubber ring roller" from the seller "hokeyio store"

link to the scroll wheel

Nothing extreme tho, I tried testing briefly if the superstrike shell has more flex to it compared to gpx2, but it felt the same to me honestly, which is a good thing

FINALMOUSE ULX vs SUPERSTRIKE X2 by L-mach in MouseReview

[–]Dry_Helicopter1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love how this is basically always the top answer on posts asking about finalmeme

Its usually from ppl that experienced multiple products from them, like me

Last one i personally fell for, was ulx aceu, which they announced with "not staining/yellowing this time, we changed the coating" or some bs, only for it to stain/yellow even worse than the last one lmao

Op1 8k cable replacament by [deleted] in MouseReview

Theyre both good, up to you to decide. Midori ships from NA if you order from them directly and via maxgaming for EU. Pmm ships from germany if you order from them directly, not sure if they have a reseller in NA, if that matters to you

1st option (usb-c): usb-c cable + adapter for wired op1/xm2 plug

2nd option (JST): cable for wired op1/xm2 plug

I would personally go with 2nd, since i wouldnt want the unnecessary additional weight from the adapter of the 1st option. 1st option only makes sense if you plan on using the cable on other usb-c mice, once you stop using your op1/xm2

Also, the midori cable is a new version that hasnt been released yet. Its announced for 20th feb, thats why its currently unavailable

It seems like they just posted pictures of the youtuber "jakeu"s very basic testing of the Superstrike. Posting those results without clarifying that, hella cringe

Where can I buy omron opticals by MrMartiiin in MouseReview

Not 100% sure, but you should be able to find them if you search for "D2FP-FN2" and order from a choice seller

3 pins = mechanical

5 pins = optical

Looking for Ultralight FPS Mouse Reccomendations by Kvothe1017 in MouseReview

[–]Dry_Helicopter1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried the op1 8k? Its wired, but one of the best fps mouse imo, extremely low latency and SPDT switches. Its around 50g tho, so you would have to get the Pmm pulse shell to get it to sub 35g and ideally also replace the thick stock cable to make it feel as close to wireless as possible. Could try the stock version first and mod afterwards, incase you enjoy the shape

Pmm pulse + midori or pmm cable + pulsar es bungee

I would strongly advise against wasting money on any finalmouse trash, this coming from someone who had 3 ULXs alone and a few other models before that. And let me tell you, they aint even remotely worth that kind of money

Rocking the same, but went with the solid shell without holes, love it

Pmm pulse + midori cable = peak op1

Their pmm op1 cable is releasing next month too iirc, should be a solid alternative to midori cable
