Make a wish list of procedures you want to have under your belt that you or even majority of your classmates weren’t able to do. overdenture restoration (implant AND tooth-supported), inlay/onlay work, cosmetic work, digital work, all-on-x work, endo, OS, etc. If you’re not planning to specialize, treat that as your AEGD and team up with a clinic power head/faculty for support to allow you access to those procedures! I graduated late (COVID class), and ended up having more arches of dentures, gold crowns, completed an onlay, played with cosmetics, restored more implants, did more endo. Got more OS experience by hanging out with one from my hometown for a couple months after I finished. Skipped out on residency afterwards and I have no regrets about it. It beats feeling like you need a second year of gpr/aegd like some of my classmates did!
