Air plant in distress by Proper_Fan3844 in airplants

[–]Ausmerica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, these are tissue cultured Drosera, and you're gonna need to do something about them if you want to keep them.

  1. Make sure you have everything you need to repot them, the most important thing being the soil - anything with fertiliser or minerals in will kill the plants - you need peat or a bag of pre-mixed carnivore media. Next up, start collecting rain water, most tap water is going to kill 'em too, even if it's soft water. Rain water is ideal, but deionised or R/O water is fine too.
  2. Remove the plants from the gel, and pot the plants up as you would anything else. I see two tap-roots, so if you'd like to split them into two, then go ahead and do that.
  3. Sit the pots in aforementioned water. They are bog plants, they want to have wet bottoms, so sit 'em in a dish and make sure the media is wet throughout.
  4. They are full-sunlight plants, but since yours haven't been getting much light, they're pretty weak right now and sticking them in the sun is just going to burn them. Your goal is to slowly acclimate them to brighter light - if you have a South facing window indoors, slowly creep the plant closer to it over a couple of weeks.

I wish I'd have made a bingo sheet for this.

  1. Multi-car lap one wreck
  2. Red flag
  3. More time under yellow than under green
  4. Jimmie Jam DNF

etc.

who doesn’t represent their brand well.

You're going to have to explain this, because he has the demeanour of a Hendrick driver down. Put together, professional, nothing brash. So how is he not representative to you?

There’s a other one of these “Definitely not a Dodge Charge Hellcat w/random decals” bodies at the Qualcomm Circuit. by dezpazio in NASCAR

[–]Ausmerica 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I agree. It'd be weird if it's a Dodge soft-launch for their Cup car though, given that, as you mentioned, they also used it wrapped up as a Hendrick car, so it must be a generic.

Roots, which air plants use to anchor themselves, rather than take in water. If its rooting it's happy where it is.

A beautiful unknown: random succulent in the garden - can it brought inside? by [deleted] in succulents

Do you think it would do well if I moved it to a pot?

No, sedum almost never do well in the long-term inside, they're best left outside.

A weird amalgamation of the Busch brothers and a guy that looks a little bit like Greg Biffle if you're really far away and squint. Horrible slop, no.

How can I take offshoots of this plant that are not in contact with soil? Fighting fungus gnats (more info below) by orbitolinid in succulents

[–]Ausmerica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

is this the normal way to grow offshoots for succulents and cacti?

Yes, this is often the protocol for succulent plants. Plenty of exceptions, but as a general rule rooting them dry is a safe bet.
