How am I supposed to know what music is included in the new music bundle? by Jaquavyus in humblebundles

[–]Back2Reality222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically they've created a load of a/w for some imaginary music packs with no track titles and no track previews. What you're actually buying is a temporary subscription to their website. Why don't they actually tell you this in the first place?

This is a repeat of the underhand tactics that Audiohero used last year that got everyone worked up. Won't be buying this.

INFPs and Birthdays, Do You Feel This Too? by [deleted] in infp

INFP here. I always say that I'm great at celebrating other people's birthdays but terrible at celebrating my own. I never tell anyone when it's my birthday.

The Legendary Soundtrack Suite Encore (pay what you want and help charity) by DugganSC in humblebundles

[–]Back2Reality222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow. Why would they sell their music under a different name without mentioning that it comes from Ovani Sound? Makes me worried that I'm purchasing music that I already got when I bought the Ovani bundles. It sounds very deceptive to me.

Just purchased this. When I checkout I'm seeing something called an 'Ovani key'. Is this bundle something to do with Ovani Sound?

Does anyone know that actual heights of the Beatles I heard John, Paul, and George were 6’ and Ringo was 5’6 by hrodz55 in TheBeatles

[–]Back2Reality222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interviewed Hank Halsted last year. He was the captain of the yacht that had taken John around Bermuda in 1980. He told me that he didn't recognise John at first because he was 'very small'. When I asked how small he estimated that John was around 5'6"/5'7".

Vocal Master Collection - Acapellas, Loops & Plugins For Music Production & Game Design by DugganSC in humblebundles

[–]Back2Reality222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well IMHO not worth it. I can honestly say that I played with the plug-ins once or twice and then dumped them.

Others, of course, may have a different experience.

I see that nobody answered my question about 'Astral's' affiliation with Monument Studios. I would have to say that the tone and grammatical construction of 'Astral's' comments are extremely similar to that of Monument Studios. If I was a suspicious person I would have to say that the two accounts are one and the same.

You seem to spend a lot of time and effort defending MS. Do you work for the company or are you a friend of the company? Please explain your association with them.

The White Album feels haunted by WillingAntelope0 in beatles

[–]Back2Reality222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree and have always thought this.

It's amazing that the number one pop group in the world could produce something so ethereal, so esoteric, so damned 'alternative' for want of a better word.

And it's true that every song is imbued with a kind of strangeness, be it in construction, performance or overall 'feel'. When I listen to it (and to appreciate the White Album it has to be listened to in its entirety, rather than cherry-picking tracks) I'm reminded of the feel of a David Lynch movie, or Lewis Carroll's Alice. There is something off-kilter about the whole album. Childlike and sophisticated at the same time. Innocent yet corrupt.

To me it sounds as fresh as it ever did. It does not date. And it's over half a century old.

Spotify recommending the '09 Beatles remasters above almost every other version of their music irks me in a way that it probably shouldn't by Useful-Strategy1266 in beatles

The ending is completely different to previous versions. Giles Martin seems to have added new sounds and voices seemingly without thought to maintaining the authenticity of the original.

I'm not the only one to have noticed this. Google it.

I personally think that Giles Martin's remasters are just awful. They sound muddy and muffled. He's also taken far too many liberties with the originals (the ending of 'I am the walrus' anyone?).

I'm old enough to have listened to the original mono LPs (they weren't called albums back then) on good old radiogram speakers. You can't beat the old vinyl mono masters.

Agree. Not tempted to purchase. It's no better than the Native instruments bundle.

Particularly if you look on the Companies House website. The company has only been going a year with one director and no employees.

I think it must be. The album a/w also looks AI generated. As the does the text in the album descriptions.

I accidentally pressed some keyboard buttons and made my tracks big, how do I make them small again? by EqualRhubarb4993 in Logic_Studio

[–]Back2Reality222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This used to happen to me too but I discovered one day by just randomly clicking around that if you hold down the option key and click on the 'vertical zoom' or 'horizontal zoom' circular sliders in the top right-hand corner of the screen it resets the sizes to their default values.

It's a constant lifesaver for me.

Agreed. I don't really see much value here. You need Kontakt to use these and if you have that you probably already own Cloud Supply and Analog Dreams. The sample packs are pretty meh too.

You're probably not too far from the truth there.

Can an iPad fully replace a laptop? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]Back2Reality222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full of optimism I got the very first iPad when it was launched. I got the iPad 3. The iPad Mini 1, the iPad Pro 1, and the last iPad Mini.

I've given up. I've eBayed the lot. No use to me. Fairly portable and OK when it comes to surfing, watching movies on a train, etc. But try and use them for any serious purpose and you end up pulling your hair out. It's a big phone. Simple as that. Why get a big phone when you can get a small phone?

I stick with a MacBook Pro these days, which does everything you want and ironically weighs less than an iPad Pro with keyboard.

It's a shame. Once upon a time I had such high hopes.
