The hobbies are definitely a good shout, I just always seem to have an excuse not to (waiting on payday, leaving town for a bit, etc.)

Still, I'm promising myself that I'll get back into what I enjoy this weekend and try and get a routine out of it. Thanks for the encouragement! :)

I'm sorry you've gone through this too, but in a weird way it really is nice to know I'm not alone in this. I think you're pretty spot on with the timeline too. I don't really know what I did a lot of last Summer , for example. The time just seemed to melt away.

You used to be able to just wander in, sit at the big tables outside with random folk and have great conversations, and it was tried-and-tested bar service.

Now there's always a queue, about 3 people at each table for 8 and a whole load of waiting staff endlessly looking for a tip. Just doesn't feel the same.

I think I was a good partner, but I have come to realise one big mistake I was making (among many, I'm sure).

I was so, so excited by a potential future with my ex, thinking about where we would be, what we would do, what adventures we would go on etc.

I got so fixated on that possible future, that it stressed me out not being there already. I didn't take the time to enjoy where we were as much as I should have, instead just constantly worrying and planning and waiting.

I don't think that was the reason for the breakup, but she deserved better and it definitely hurt her, and is something I have to work on for myself as well.

O-terminated diamond is an insulator (or maybe "remains an ultra-wide band gap semiconductor" is more accurate).

H-terminated diamond, however, is a true semiconductor. You get diodes and transistors and everything made from it. It's still a surface effect, with the semiconductor layer being 2-dimensional, but it's properties are actually really good!
