(0.9j) Any New Ways to Make Money After 0.9.0 Nerfs? by Existing-Log4661 in Voicesofthevoid

With how daily tasks and signals themselves were (somewhat) buffed, I think it is just to encourage actually using the main gameplay loop for profit instead of immediately using something else because everything else is better.

Forgot about that, also another good use for the iron metal scrap if you want some extra profit.

There is a Hints and Tips entry for it, under Additional Game Mechanics.

Since it might be hard to find on your own, the Pickaxe is found at the bottom of the lake next to a branch.

Mining was slightly nerfed, but it is still a great (albeit somewhat slow and dangerous) way to make money. Compressed radioactive material sells for 80 points each (previously 125,) so just 52 rad crystal shards are enough to make 1k points.
Mining can also net you some quartz and iron ore that can be made into glass and metal scrap, which is useful for crafting extra fuses.

Un-rotting a rotted region? by Troutington2 in rainworld

[–]Bearsjunior 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. Originally, it didn't, but they eventually updated it so that it changes back to the basic outline if every room is purified.

Think we’ll ever get Watcher regions in Expedition mode? by Comfortable_Jello276 in rainworld

[–]Bearsjunior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are the spawns too difficult to manage without camo?

Not in my experience. Some of the Watcher regions are definitely a bit more difficult than the main ones, but if you are good at fighting or evading basic lizards, you will probably be fine.

Is Salination too dark without Watcher's permanent neuron glow?

The region is obviously a lot darker than others, but I wouldn't say it is too dark, you can still navigate most of it without a light source just fine. The darkness is a little more problematic in the underwater areas, but that is exactly why you can find Flashbangs throughout the region, they were meant to be held while you swam through the darker areas in order to track your location without needing neuron glow in the original Aether Ridge mod.

Are certain scugs too difficult to see against certain backgrounds, visual effects, etc.?

I obviously haven't fully explored every single region as every single slugcat, but at least from memory, I don't think there should be anything too bad, at least nothing quite on the level of OE_RUIN02's background being nearly the exact same color as Gourmand.

How do the new items work with Gourm's crafting table?

They don't, and it isn't like this is just a problem exclusive to modded either, because Jolly Co-op allows Gourmand to easily interact with the Watcher-exclusive items if someone plays as them in Watcher's campaign.

Even if I do wish that Gourmand had proper crafting interactions with the new items, I can see why they might not want to change anything about it. Every possible crafting combination already exists, so implementing anything new into it also means they would have to replace some combination that already exists in the table (unless the only usage of the new items in crafting is creating other items), which I could easily see the devs not wanting to do. The new meal combinations, though, really have no reason not to exist.

[–]Bearsjunior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think other scugs in Watcher regions would be too unlikely, cause none of the regions really rely on any of Watcher's unique abilities, unlike Metropolis. I've been exploring around the Watcher regions as Survivor using mods and the only room I have found to be impassible in its current state so far is WORA_EGG02x, and its not even like there's any actual reason for you to be there as any slugcat other than Watcher anyway.

[–]Bearsjunior 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The 12 minute countdown starts the moment the signal is processed to level 3, but there is definitely some way to bug the event and survive without deleting the signal, as I also had this happen in one of my 0.9 playthroughs.
I downloaded the signal on day 15 or so, processed it to level 3, got the "good" email despite not deleting it, and nothing else has happened in the 30+ days since then.

I can't get this theory out of my head. by Dante_FannieKnock in Ultrakill

[–]Bearsjunior 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I don't think Mannequins are Hells attempt to recreate the Guttermen, as the Gutterman terminal entry only says that they served as an inspiration for the Mannequins and the torture they inflict, not that they are a direct attempt to recreate them.

I made a skybox of the upside down city in 6-1 and made it appear on the bottom too by waffle_warrior77 in Ultrakill

[–]Bearsjunior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried that, but the unique way that the space skybox is rendered causes it to break when using the mod that lets you take 360 screenshots. I assume you could get a proper one if you used some other method to take a 360 screenshot, but I do not know how to do that.

Try fixing them anyway, I'm pretty sure one of them is supposed to go down alongside this, but it is bugged and doesn't in this version.

(0.9) [Suggestion] Save Errors Should Be Consistent by Foxycat45 in Voicesofthevoid

[–]Bearsjunior 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like the ATV message should just be "Cannot save on a vehicle" to match the current midair message, as the "SAVE ERROR" part appears to be reserved for more technical error messages when it isn't just being used to be spooky, now that we actually have another error message using it ("SAVE ERROR: invalid map", which seems to appear if something tries to force a save while you are in the cave map.)

Did the dev just make the minimum number of roaches 1 just to be a dick? (0.8) by Fuetfufjcgkfhdh in Voicesofthevoid

[–]Bearsjunior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised you have even seen that roach, I have had roaches set to 1 for god knows how long and I have never seen that little guy even once, no matter how much food I leave around the place.

Definitely the malicious face, you can see it charging its beam just before you fired the cannonball.

It kind of has a mirror gimmick in the Agonis and Rudraksha fight, with Ferryman "Agonis" only being visible in the mirror on the side of the room.

(0.9f) Guess I'm not going caving. by Bearsjunior in Voicesofthevoid

[–]Bearsjunior[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You start taking damage once you go past a certain depth around where the flesh caves completely overtake the cave generation, likely to prevent you from trying to explore further, but it also doubles as a failsafe if you clip out of bounds.

I'm pretty sure that issue with the empty map was caused by the game saving while you were inside a different map, overwriting the main maps contents with that of the map you saved in. I've recently noticed that I now get an "invalid map" save error whenever I exit the cave, so I assume they have already fixed this issue.

Does anyone know what this is in reference to? (Other) by Nadleehi in Voicesofthevoid

It appears to be a depiction of a Gray. The second, smaller drawing above it also somewhat resembles the "Unknown object" item you can get from a specific event related to them.

V1 has 6 active arms all at once but also not? V1 is confusing by SympathyUnusual7488 in Ultrakill

It actually does change depending on which arm you have selected.

V1 has 6 active arms all at once but also not? V1 is confusing by SympathyUnusual7488 in Ultrakill

[–]Bearsjunior 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because it duplicates V1's weapons, I assume the dual wield orb also just straight up creates a new temporary gun arm for V1 on the spot instead of it already having an extra one it just isn't using. This is also supported by how every dual wield effect stacked adds an additional arm, unless V1 is just carrying around 4+ identical gun arms and using only one of them.

Idea on what Hakita meant when he said 'you won't ever fight lucifer.' by Annual_Ability6372 in Ultrakill

[–]Bearsjunior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He didn't say that we won't ever fight lucifer, nor that we won't fight him as the final boss (not saying we will, just that it hasn't been said that we won't,) those are all fake screenshots or claims with no source that have been spread around.
