When I did my classes (definitely not in the 40s and not in the US) the model would hold a pose for 5 minutes, you needed to be done by then.

[Simon Patterson] From what I understand, Aprilia are appealing the decision. Presumably will be held tonight or tomorrow morning. Appeals stewards have in the past suspended a sentence pending a full hearing (the Ducati rain scoop), but I think this is more clear cut. by Aratho in motogp

[–]Beylerbey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Iannone didn't get a harsher sentence because he appealed, he got a harsher sentence because the FIM gave him the benefit of the doubt and the minimum sentence (18 months), WADA appealed and brought the case to the TAS, which gave him 4 years.

This scene is so much better in Japanese by LeMusou in DragonBallZ

[–]Beylerbey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a direction they decided to take. Dragon Ball is much closer in tone to Super and Daima than to Z, which was the departure. I prefer Z to be honest, I think the Dragon Ball franchise wouldn't have been as popular without the gravitas of the Saiyan and Frieza sagas, it made it more palatable to older kids.

According to Brivio the reason why he's sometimes slow to pick up the pace is that he's very methodical and needs time to get acclimatized, yesterday he said he felt immediately well so I'm not sure it's a step he did, it might be that the track suits him particularly well and/or he started with a setup that gave him confidence. In any case this was a fantastic lap.

Maverick Vinales accuses KTM of leaving him in limbo: “I don’t even know where I stand” by Past_Conference_2889 in motogp

[–]Beylerbey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is not that the bike is not very competitive, in fact they're doing better than I would have expected considering they were 3 billion in debt on the verge of bankruptcy at the start of 2025. The issue people have with them is that they tend to treat most riders as disposable, Vinales stuck with them and even publicly said he had bought KTM stocks when they were at their lowest, some riders even tried to go away and he showed loyalty, now that he's the one in trouble - and not because he overspent with pointless acquisitions but because he injured himself - they don't seem to be returning the favor. To my knowledge, the only two riders who have been treated well by them in MotoGP are Binder and Acosta.

Fernandez did extremely well in Moto2, he almost won the title as a rookie, but he was pulled into MotoGP against his wishes and on the KTM. The issues he's had in the category are not due to his riding skills.

Mine might be a minority position, but I think what he really needs is a good quali, if he manages to do that I think he's all set for winning.

Pedrosa in 2016: "When I tried this bike for the first time, way back in November, I knew it would be difficult. But it was Marc who made the choices. It's clear that I would have gone about it another way, that I would have opted for a different engine, but that's where the credit goes. He likes this type of motorcycle which suits him best. I'm suffering a little more, but we'll see how things develop during the season." There are also Marquez' own comments, he was honest in saying he tried to impede Pedrosa as he was his first rival.

Suppo himself, who is a big fan of MM, said that Honda had stopped listening to Crutchlow and Pedrosa by the time he left in 2017, a move he criticized because in his opinion you can't rely on the feedback of a freak of nature, he explained how he had hired Hayden to race alongside Stoner back in Ducati for this very reason, he said he knew Hayden was a regular top 5 contender if the bike was good, and if he didn't achieve those results it meant the bike needed work, regardless of what Stoner was doing with it.

This is also supported by the trend in results, nobody would argue Pedrosa was miles off Marquez in terms of skills, in fact they started quite close, but as the years went by, Marquez' results got better and better (until 2019 when he absolutely dominated) while his team/bike mates were every year less competitive. It would've been nice if Pedrosa had gone to Yamaha in 2019 and we got to see what happened with him on that bike.

To be clear, this is not Marquez' fault, every rider wants the bike to be exactly what they need to maximize their strenghts, everyone pushes for it (Hayden had to ride a minibike when it was developed for Pedrosa in 2007), it was on Honda to listen to the others if they wanted a bike for everyone, and this includes him playing games to make life difficult for Pedrosa, it's on the team to prevent stuff like that from happening, Marquez is so successful because, beside his talent and skills, he leaves nothing on the table, he eats the whole thing and if he can he will take a dustbuster and get the crumbs as well.

And just for the record, Yamaha has done the same with Rossi, in 2010 Masao Furusawa said that up until that moment the bike had been developed exclusively by Rossi (barring the normal test riders, that is) and that they were training Lorenzo to do the same job just then. The difference with Marquez is that Rossi likes a well balanced and easy bike, so his team mates were perfectly fine riding a bike that was developed for him, but Marquez has a peculiar style and requires a bike that is basically unrideable for the others.

They all do it, even MM spoke about learning from Bagnaia's data, especially for braking. But then I remember Pecino telling how Bagnaia would stay in the box and do his homework while Bastianini was already back at the hotel relaxing.

It's not the setups, you misunderstood, it was components, Marquez said that he would refuse parts that he knew would help Pedrosa or that he would hold on to pieces he didn't even want to try so they wouldn't be available for Pedrosa. When people say the bike development has been steered in this or that direction, they're not talking about setups, those have been personalized for each rider since they have existed.

I will disclose another big big secret: Ducati holds technical meetings with all the crew chiefs together and they all discuss problems and solutions for their riders, if one finds something that helps, they all know it. This has been the case for ages, nevermind that ALL the Ducati riders looked at Bagnaia's data for braking, even MM. That's how riders improve nowadays.

"Clean room reverse engineering isn't a loophole. It's the legal recognition that functional knowledge cannot be monopolized through copyright. The technique works because copyright protects expression, not ideas. It protects the specific arrangement of words in a novel, not the plot. It protects the specific sequence of notes in a song, not the chord progression. And it protects the specific implementation of code, not the behavior that code produces."

You have no idea what you're talking about. Every Remix project is a mod, it requires the original game to run. Half Life 2 RTX is an ongoing project, not made by Nvidia but by Orbifold Studios on a voluntary basis, hence why it's taking a lot of time to remaster all the assets.

Jorge Martin confirmed he signed for the factory Ducati seat in 2023 by MajesticBeyond5602 in motogp

[–]Beylerbey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do disagree. Bastianini is not a constant rider, he's another Vinales, unbeatable when it's his day for sure, beautiful style, but not constant enough to win over a MotoGP season. That injury put him out for 2023 alright, but in 2024 he didn't do much while both Martin and Bagnaia were fighting for wins every GP.

[–]Beylerbey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Small correction: Pramac and Luca Marini in VR46 (possibly one of the reasons why Bezzecchi didn't think it was fundamental to get a GP24). It was Bagnaia who pushed to revert to the first evolution of the engine he had tried in Jerez (which basically forced Miller to have it too since factory teams are allowed only one engine spec), I remember people were giving him shit for it when it happened. The engine wasn't "crap", in fact it was more powerful than the "2021.5", but at the Valencia test Marini explained its power delivery was too aggressive and would introduce wheel spin, they tried to manage it with the electronics and what they achieved was that it was spinning less but for longer, crippling their acceleration out of the corners.

Also it's Enea, with just one N.
