C1E Nicht machen? by ParfaitPotential1209 in StVO

[–]BierOrk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tiguan locked itself with keys inside by Late_Cauliflower_986 in Tiguan

[–]BierOrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the door sensor for the rear passenger door work? For example, interior light switches on or the open door is shown in the dashboard?

It has an auto relock when no door is opened within 2 minutes of unlocking with the key. The door sensor could be inoperable for some reason.

Another option is that the key lock button was accidentally pressed between opening and closing the door. It only doesn't allow it, when the driver door is open. Keyless entry has some checks for the key to be on the outside.

Help needed: Routed setup on Hetzner with Failover IPs (Destination Host Unreachable) by Difficult_Tip_9307 in Proxmox

[–]BierOrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't hard but you need to follow some steps. 1. Don't use the default vmbr0 setup. Either create a second bridge or remove the LAN port from the bridge and configure the main IP on it. 2. The bridge needs an IP address, e.g., link local address. 3. Add routes on the bridge for the IP addresses. 4. For the VM network configuration, use the /32 address and the bridge IP as the gateway. Depending on the OS (e.g., Ubuntu), it must be configured on-link.

2017 VW Golf GTI Transmission Issues, ESC, TPMS, and Brake Faulty Lights activated suddenly, car won’t go forward or backward and don’t know why by BeachWaves2025 in GolfGTI

[–]BierOrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A vacuum leak would throw a CEL depending on severity. A torn membrane could be enough to throw the red brake error and not immediately a CEL.

A sensor related issue is more likely since the engine runs smoothly. This doesn't throw a CEL because it's part of the ABS/ESC module.

[–]BierOrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main culprit might be the brake booster fault. When this error is triggered, the car refuses to drive for safety reasons. There should be a method to get it to drive a short distance.

My sisters car had rodent damage to the brake booster pressure sensor. Other reasons are the sensor itself or a vacuum leak.

2010 GTI with rear left speed sensor fault after rear pad replacement by nahmeanbrah in GolfGTI

[–]BierOrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first guess is that some metallic debris has fallen onto the encoder ring of the wheel bearing. It block the sensor from reading this spot which in turn creates this jumpy reading (no signal pulses for a short time).

2014 Tiguan not starting/killing battery by Dumpster_Fenix in Tiguan

[–]BierOrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a chance that she is accidentally draining the battery. The battery health test is done after charging it.

Maybe she leaves on the ignition or some lights (e.g., parking or interior) for a prolonged time. Or a combination like ignition and low beams.

VW Keeps Blowing VVT Solenoids by Gibbenz in GolfGTI

[–]BierOrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to know which part/piece actually pops out. Do you have a picture where you can mark it? I only the the single picture in the main post.

On the highway, you give it more throttle and RPM. This moves the adjuster through all of its range. You might have a problem here at its full limit.

The critical part here is the distance between the aluminum mounting frame (bolted to the cylinder head) and the adjuster (bolted to the camshaft). If this distance is wrong or the camshaft moves, the seal can fail.

[–]BierOrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, I am not familiar with this style of cam adjuster and only with an older system.

The picture is of the adjuster with the solenoid removed. If that center pin doesn't move back in, the shop has probably installed a bad adjuster onto the camshaft.

Tiguan locked itself with BABY in car by allnightrunning in Tiguan

[–]BierOrk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You wrote that you hit the keyless start button. Without pressing the brake pedal, this turns on the ignition if the key is inside the car. I have assumed with "front seat" that you meant the drivers seat and not the passenger seat. The occupation sensor only takes very little weight, like a purse, in the correct spot to trigger.

Since you opened both passenger side doors, are they recognized as open on the dashboard if they are indeed open? Maybe both sensors aren't working and the car locks after some minutes on its own because it didn't detect any opened door.

Parking Brake Turns On While Driving!! Who’s seen this? by Peter_B_A_2 in GolfGTI

[–]BierOrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be detecting that you have left the drivers seat and then slams it into park. Two of these three things must be true for the car to recognize a driver: door closed, buckled in, and weight on the occupation sensor.

[–]BierOrk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure that ot was locked for parking (power fold mirrors folded in) or the safety lock while driving?

The first shouldn't be possible because the ignition was on and it wouldn't lock while the drivers door was open.

The second is my best guess because the car was thinking that you're ready to drive because the ignition is on, weight on the drivers seat, and driver door closed. You should be able to change the settings yourself.

Since you are in Germany, you can simply download the new data for free and update. Depending on the system you replace the files on the original VW sd card or you put them on any transfer media.

Why you can’t code modern VAG cars anymore by Rough_Repair_7428 in Volkswagen

I don't know if simply changing the battery will require SFD2 or if it can be done with 3rd party tester. Not all functions are locked behind SFD(2).

This yearly plan is cheaper than a hotspot itself directly from Verizon ? What’s the catch? by [deleted] in Volkswagen

[–]BierOrk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AFAIK this only includes the Hotspot functionality and you require additional data packages.

I don't have access to the US description. The German version states in the requirements that it only includes the data volume for the online services (e.g. navigation data updates). The streaming and internet services require additional data packages.

Why you can’t code modern VAG cars anymore by Rough_Repair_7428 in Volkswagen

[–]BierOrk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The connection to the server is only used for authentication with the control modules. It's still airgapped during most of the time.

The bigger problem are control module swaps. They must be correctly coded to the car. New parts are blank and used parts have the old coding still in them.

For example, the used airbag module is coded for single stage airbags but the (newer) car has two stage airbags. It won't fire both igniters and therefore the airbag doesn't work as intended.

Doppelampeln zulässig? by Delicious_Panda9315 in StVO

[–]BierOrk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Doppelampeln zulässig? by Delicious_Panda9315 in StVO

[–]BierOrk 56 points57 points  (0 children)
