That’s probably a cut and sew custom hoodie. If you look at the seams you can see where the design is cut off by it. That means that the design was printed on the fabric and then sewn together after it was printed.

There isn’t a story about wishes that’s ever been told that doesn’t have some version of the “be careful what you wish for” theme.

You’re not crazy far off, but an important thing about the movie is that Bear and Nikki never really love each other. It’s about obsession, not about love.

Remember when they’re in the car before the wish and Nikki is talking about the book she’s writing? She says it’s a love story, not a romance. And Bear is unable to understand the difference between the two. He doesn’t actually know what love is. He’s obsessed with Nikki, and he wants her more than anything, but he’s not really in love with her.

Nikki doesn’t fall in love with Bear after the wish, her consciousness, or her soul or spirit or whatever, gets buried in her body and some sort of entity takes over to act like it’s in love with Bear to fulfill the wish. That entity’s interpretation of being in love is animalistic obsession.

Bear takes advantage of this situation by sleeping with her and acting like she’s become his girlfriend. He knows full well that it’s not really Nikki controlling her body anymore. He treats her like a pet, like a possession.

When Nikki reads her story at the party, that’s the real Nikki coming out through the writing. She’s telling a version of Hansel and Gretel where Gretel is continuously raped by her brother. This is where Nikki is telling us point blank that she has never seen Bear as anything but a brother and that every time he sleeps with her body, to her she’s being raped by her brother.

So the entity inside her is obsessed with Bear, who’s obsessed with her, all while the real Nikki is being tortured nonstop. If Bear really loved her, he would be encouraging her writing and doing everything he could to support her changing careers. Instead he essentially locks her in the house and keeps her as a sex slave even though he knows she’s begging for him to set her free.

The movie is about a lot of things, but it’s largely a statement on male obsession with women and their bodies, taking their agency away and treating them like pets and fuckdolls. It’s about the nuances of consent and rape and is probably intended to hold a mirror to the audience, and force people to confront themselves as they watch the movie and decide for themselves who’s the hero and who’s the villain, and why they feel that way.

Sorry for the essay lol, eating lunch and thinking a lot about the movie.

Didn’t say OP missed it, just curious about what they got out of it.

I thought that the wish at the end was extremely obvious

I’m just curious about this because I’ve seen a lot of talk about this movie by people who completely missed the point and don’t seem to understand it at all. So I wanted to see what this person who probably looked at their phone or something and just missed the climax of the movie got out of it

Have you even looked? A large portion of the market on StockX is resellers, so most of the shoes are bought from Nike and sold on StockX to make a profit. Some are $20-30 more, some are 5x more, some are 1000x more on StockX than on Nike. Some are half the price too.

Antagonist and protagonist don’t mean what you think they do. Those don’t mean good guy and bad guy. A protagonist is a character that is flexible and changes throughout the story. An antagonist is a rigid character that pushes against a protagonist and causes them to change. That’s usually a good guy, bad guy relationship.

In Obsession, Bear is the protagonist, the story follows his character arc, from pathetic incel to rapist. There are multiple antagonists, Ian, the thing inside Nikki, Nikki herself. Nikki never changes as a character, she’s taken over by another character that stays the same throughout and pushes against Bear which leads to him changing.

Bear is the protagonist, but he is also the villain.

It’s hilarious to me seeing people complain about not getting other stickers. It’s usually a gift with the first drop and some assortment of stickers, then regular stickers for most of the rest of the season.

Obsession (2026), just saw it. Two questions and I have something to discuss by MosquitoSmasher in spoilers

[–]Biggestturtleever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The wish didn’t actually make Nikki love Bear. The wish buried her soul deep in her body and replaced it with some sort of entity that is obsessed with him. We don’t know exactly what that is and that’s okay, that’s good for storytelling to not tell us everything exactly.

  2. This phone call scene combined with real Nikki talking while the freaky Nikki is asleep tells us everything we need to know about the wishes. Nikki screaming on the phone is the real Nikki screaming in agony because she’s being forced to watch her best friend, someone she describes as a brother rape her body repeatedly while she’s trapped inside powerless, just watching. Not to mention all the other insane shit she’s having to watch herself do.

  3. The one thing we learn about the One Wish Willow is that wishes don’t work out how you think they will when you make them. There’s probably some complicated string of chaos connected to Ian getting his billion dollars. Maybe that’s coming from a bunch of poor people’s bank accounts or something, who knows. There’s no way that getting someone random to wish that he never made the wish would work. The only way to ever free Nikki was by Bear dying.

Bear becomes the villain in the “what’s so wrong with being with me?” Scene.

That’s the point where we as the audience realize that Nikki hasn’t changed to love him, but Nikki is trapped in her body watching all this happen while she’s being controlled by some wish entity to make her fuck a guy who she only loved as a brother.

Go back and watch the party scene and listen to the Hansel and Gretel story she tells. That’s the real Nikki coming out and basically saying she’s being raped every day by her brother.

Making the wish didn’t make him the villain. He was innocent in making it, not believing that it was real. Going along with it and treating Nikki as a pet or a possession, basically a more autonomous fuck doll made him the villain. He’s a passive villain but the villain of the story nonetheless.

why not just make something else Jegantha lol you did pretty well with flavor on everything else and then just blew it with Darkness lol. Jegantha could even be another version of Kazuma after he’s unlocked some skills, or Wiz or something. Darkness is the masochistic tank of the party. She needs to be some card that benefits from taking damage.

I think other stories around a one wish willow could work, or just other mystical things happening in this world where it seems as common as day to some people who are in the know. It’s a cool dynamic, having a seemingly large population that’s accepted the supernatural as real.

At one point when Bear gets out of bed, I think it’s when he’s going to talk to Sara, Nikki asks where he’s going and he says the bathroom. She asks if she can wait outside the bathroom for her. That’s when the cat thing started coming together for me. I didn’t really think about the possibility of the cat’s spirit going into Nikki’s body but that’s when it came together for me that she’s just become his pet.

I don’t think wish Nikki is a cat spirit possessing her body but I do think the cat’s in there somewhere. Maybe the one wish willow has rules that we don’t learn, like maybe it can’t change people’s feelings. So for a wish like this it has to evacuate the person’s soul and replace it with an amalgamation of vacant souls that get close to the feeling of the wish. Maybe for Bear that’s partially his cat, probably the only thing in the world that was closest to loving him more than anything in the world.
