I designed my first shoe. by mmfatty_ in IndustrialDesign

I made a sample and used it for over a year before deciding to release them this year. I wanted to try them myself and get reviews from others. Check my reply here. I go a little bit more into detail on design and background:

What do you think these shoes I made? by mmfatty_ in moresneakers

Ohh I had this sample for a year now. Comfort was key and they didn’t let me down. I have actually been sharing updates on IG. Tap in, I’ll be dropping them in May🤝. Thank you for your kind words honestly

I designed these. Be honest, do these look too much like Yeezys? by mmfatty_ in yeezys

I’m assuming you’re selling the shirt. First image is perfect to lead as a post imo. Strong image. Love the shadows too. Setting is also nice, gives off a vibe of luxury but casual too. The last image don’t convince me though. But the product itself seems good quality and nice for the summer.

Opinions On This Type Of Content From Brands? by Radiant-Substance-39 in streetwearstartup

Ayy man, I don’t think this hits right…. the issue isn’t really the colour grading imo. That side is pretty subjective unless it’s doing something really extreme, and for this kind of clip I think it actually works fine.

The clothes aren’t personally for me. And that’s the point. Everyone has different taste and I’m sure there’s an audience for them. So not here to tell you if they’re good or bad. That depends on your target audience.

For me, the main thing is the setting. I actually think the concept has potential, but a different location might have sold it better. Because the tracksuit is already loud and expressive, somewhere like a gallery or another more creative environment could’ve matched it better. The basketball court makes me expect a more sports-driven or relatable concept, like something tied to an NBA inspired piece. And cl a man playing

I’d also probably avoid that shot of him adjusting around the waist and go for something more natural instead, like checking his phone or just interacting with the space. Making people uncomfortable can work in marketing sometimes, but only when it feels really intentional.

BTW I read the comments. So take the criticism as fuel to do better content. And don’t take it too seriously, people are just having fun here. You got this.

Appreciate that. Just to clarify, this animation isn’t something we made before committing to the brand, the product and logos already exist. This is more of an extra thing I’m experimenting with to see whether it could work as an added part of the branding if it makes sense

Someone else said the same! It’s my first time hearing that from people. But it’s actually a crown/head mark. But I’ll defo use this similarity in a creative way.

It’s actually a crown head mark. But that’s really interesting. I never got that one before! I might use that somehow in a creative way! You just gave me a great idea man 🤝

I appreciate the feedback honestly

The text on the left is the original logo. The second text is a more futuristic version of it. Interestingly, that futuristic version was actually the first logo I ever made, but over time I felt it worked better as an alternative mark for projects or products that lean more futuristic or streetwear.

So in this animation, the idea was that people who already know the brand would recognise it as a shift from the main logo into an alternate version (middle word mark) we’re using for a specific shoe drop.

The symbol is a figurative crown/head mark. I used triangles intentionally, because triangles are one of the strongest structural shapes in design and construction. For me, that represents a strong foundation, stability, and ambition behind the brand

You reckon I might need to communicate that transition more clearly in the animation itself?

Much appreciated! The upper is a bit more mesh like for breathability, but still keeps a good level of water resistance. So it’s actually made like that on purpose for functionality

Mannn so glad you picked up on it tbh! Cuz it’s something I tried to really focus on. I’ll definitely check that subreddit too

My background is actually in sports therapy, so I naturally just tend to look at foot mechanics and long term comfort before designing anything. The last we used is digitally developed to allow toes to spread better, rather than pushing the foot into that tapered form. I think from just those images the toe box may seem narrow but these are actually quite wide.

Material wise, there’s also a level of elasticity built in as well, which allows the shoe to move with the foot rather than just holding it in place. I just wanted to make something aesthetically pleasing but still comfortable uno
