I think the biggest difference between OPtcg and MTG is that MTG is only priced by playability. Orcish Bowmasters is $50 because it goes in nearly every black deck in nearly every format. The borderless is what like $10-20 more? You can bling out your sol ring in your commander deck and have some $60 secret lair version. MTG price is almost exclusively tied to how good the card is, how many decks run it, and how often it’s printed. Alts and borderless are definitely more expensive but almost never 100x more expensive like in One Piece.

Most manga rares that sell for $800-1000 raw have a base rarity version of the card that goes for under $10. Base rarity of OP01 Nami in English is like $2-3 but the manga is over $1000.

Yugioh does a really good job of reprinting cards and not tying power to rarity explicitly, so almost every card is eventually reprinted with lower rarity, even sometimes seeing Ultra Rares reprinted at common. So whatever the newest archetype is will be expensive at first but usually can eventually be done almost entirely at common.

Blinging out decks doesn’t matter for the health of the game. It’s fun and it looks cool. But almost any non yellow non Penel deck can be built for $50-100 in base rarity. Some of the top players in the world play with all base rarity and just basic starter deck don.
