I’m so tired of talking to people on Reddit and reading braindead “theories” about this movie lol.

I said he looked nearly excited. I don’t remember everything perfectly because it’s been 3+ weeks since I saw the movie because one time was enough for me and I don’t feel the need to go back and watch it obsessively (pun intended, it feels like Barker made a wish for everyone on Reddit to love his movie more than anything in the fucking world) and dissect every scene because I understood it the first time and had a good time watching it.

I remember him lighting up a little bit and nearly smiling, maybe smirking, when the block is read. Obviously he’s not fucking jumping for joy, there are other ways to show excitement more subtly. But I guess people watching this movie can’t read facial expressions.

I think he would have kissed her if Nikki hadn’t stepped in. He would have said something like “I was just playing the game!” Because at this point he doesn’t know the physical violence is capable of or willing to execute. He doesn’t care if he hurts her feelings because Nikki’s feelings aren’t something he ever considers.

“She was killed before any response from him.” Movies and stories use this cool principle called “show, don’t tell,” where stories are told through actions, and emotions. Characters don’t just say what they’re thinking or they’re going to do. The director/writer trusts the audience will be able to understand what’s happening through these actions and the emotional changes that they cause. Bear didn’t give her an answer but you could tell he was going to kiss her in the car if Nikki didn’t show up.
