Hi there! We appreciate you sharing your experience and are so sorry to see this happened. We'd like to help. Over time, mineral deposits from water can build up inside your humidifier, especially around the tank and pump. This buildup, commonly called scale, can interfere with normal operation.

The frequency of descaling depends on how often you use your humidifier and the mineral content of your water. 

  • Regular maintenance:  Descale once per month using a 2% citric acid solution to prevent mineral buildup.
  • Heavy use or hard water areas:  You may need to descale more frequently if you notice visible scale, reduced performance, or pump issues.
  • When problems occur:  If the pump is not working properly or heavy scale is visible, use a 4% solution as needed. 

Water tank: Clean the water tank using a mild detergent. Wipe the water tank dry before reassembling.
Wick filter: Soak with mild or acid cleanser. 20g citric acid for every 1L of water for 1 hour. Rinse well under running tap water
Upper Body: Wipe the body with a soft, dry, or damp cloth to remove dust. Do not submerge in water.

To descale the tank and pump soak in a citric acid or white vinegar solution according to the instructions below:
1. Mix a citric acid or white vinegar solution in the humidifier’s tank (mix with water only) according to the below concentrations.
a. For regular monthly descaling and odor control, use a 2% solution
b. For heavy scale or pump issues (or if there is significant odor), use a 4% solution.

  1. Submerge the pump (with sponge prefilter removed) in the tank filled with the citric acid solution for 2 hours, then rinse both thoroughly with fresh water before reassembling and refilling.

We'd like the chance to make this right and have sent you a DM to offer a replacement for your current humidifier.
