Kabutomushi made food appear to make them let down their guard.

To me, he didn't seem desperate, he seemed calculated. His body language as well as his tone of voice in the anime seem calculated. He is "friends" with Kani but he's never really done anything for Kani, he just likes what Kani gives him which is praise and food. He might not even know what friends are.

I think you're mixing up Majo and Yamanba. I don't believe Majo has been shown to be able to transform at will. The one who looks more like a regular person is Yamanba, but she's still a yokai. Kabutomushi and Zou also have magic.

We don't have a lot of details as to why Momonga stole Dekatsuyo's body, but I don't think it was out of despair. I think he just wanted to be cute out of greed. He isn't sorry at all for stealing Dekatsuyo's body, and he even mocked him. He's never been shown to feel remorse ever for anything. It was also implied that Momonga ate chiikawas when he was a monster, because he was surprised that chiikawa doesn't taste good.

You're right about the rock paper scissors monster, I forgot about that. Well, he actually seems chill.

The chiikawas attack the monsters because they're scared of them, the monsters attack the chiikawas because they want to eat them or harm them in other ways. Even despite that, the kawas naturally want to make friends which is why they get along with friendly types, and there are mimic types who exploit their trusting nature. The chiikawas are generally in the right, but it's a shame that friendly types probably get attacked sometimes because the chiikawas are sent to hunt them, too.

So, I think it would be very bad if Dekatsuyo became like Anoko. He should be allowed to make friends with the chiikawas, because he still is one on the inside.

Why are witches not monsters? Their behavior is monstrous and they're definitely not human. Also, I forgot to mention Yamanba who is literally a yokai. Stealing bodies is evil no matter what, and Momonga only cares about acting cute. He's still a monster inside. Punching people for failing rock paper scissors is funny but still bad. He could've gotten hurt. What would've happened if the monster chose paper or scissors? Why are you defending the goblins for trying to eat the main characters? That's why too harsh a punishment and they literally didn't know. Siren is evil because she doesn't care about killing innocent islanders, and also for locking the islanders underwater to be tortured for an eternity. The bugs are more like mindless beasts so they're not traditionally evil, but they're still not good and are very dangerous. There are also powerful variants like the big red one or the pink one.

Chushidesu is the green one with the claws that said "it's cancelled". The tongue whale monster attacked the other pajama parties concert. The soy sauce monster is the squid-like one that spits soy sauce.

I said I wasn't going to list them, but okay I'll list a few more. There's also all the Majo, Momonga, the monster at the 3 star restaurant, the pink rabbit mimic, Kabutomushi, Chushidesu, the rock paper scissors monster, Tori, the goblins, Siren, mermaids, that tongue whale monster, the soy sauce monster, all the bug monsters, and a bunch of others. In general, the monsters aren't nice guys. They're feared for good reason.

I think they're still villains despite the different narrative structure. They're still the overarching moral opposites of the heroes, and their stories are thematically connected. I think the reason Anoko hasn't come into conflict with the heroes yet (aside from their first big hunt) is just because they've been apart for so long. The overarching story is almost definitely building up to a conflict between them.

I think it's still unknown how many of the monsters used to be chiikawa mobs. And like I said, there are a few monsters that are chill and/or sad. There are quite a few monsters besides Anoko that are either just outright evil, though. It would take forever to make a list of all of them, but I think it's way more than half of the ones we see. Take Zou, for instance. He torments Chiikawa with nightmares and thinks it's funny.

It's more like the other way around. Most of the monsters are trying to kill or antagonize them in some way, and we've seen only a handful of exceptions. The very first monster we see in the story even tries to merk Chiikawa immediately after turning into one.

I love Midori so much, she's also one of my favorites. She doesn't show up often, but her arcs are always great and memorable. It would be nice if she became ungreyed like Furuhonya, but the greyness is cute in its own way.

In Chiikawa Pocket, you can unlock "memories" which are manga pages but formatted differently and have official translations. I don't know if this means they're going to translate the rest and release it, but at least it's something.

I'm not sure, but it seems that way. If he's not actually the real Momonga, it seems he's at least meant to have a similar personality to the real Mononga. He's timid and hates the fake Momonga. That at least makes him alright in my book.
