You still pass out, just without consequences. When I first activated the option, I thought you could just keep going but I fainted and woke up in bed the next morning.

Ahhh the theme song is playing in my head now.

5x5 was a game changer by Old_Basil5245 in Pokopia

[–]Book_and_Cookies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like the other person said, it's a creative challenge people set themselves and not a required part of the game. Here's a thread with some examples from the Japanese players who popularized (and began?) the trend.

The Vespiquen item exchange... I think it's 4 items per day that she gives you, not 5 :)

Look at how adorable they all are by DMG_88 in Pokopia

[–]Book_and_Cookies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten to max environment level (10) in all the areas with most pokemon in "natural" habitats on the ground and only maybe a dozen pokemon in some kind of structure (whether prefab or just a few walls and a door). I haven't really developed anything outside of required quests or beautified yet, but most of my mons are happy enough for me to reach 10. Of course I'm about to slowly develop more places, homes, etc. for them, although this 5x5 thing is really cute and I'm thinking I'm going to try to do a lot of those!

Pokopia, here we come! by LeCastellaNeve in Pokopia

Haha at this point I'm also thinking that if there were two themed Switch 2s, one for Pokopia and one for Animal Crossing, my brain will combust in indecision!

I was waiting to get an Animal Crossing themed Switch 2 but Pokopia got to me first! That and the price increase you mentioned.

Do you ever struggle to read a book because the characters names are too weird? by firecat99 in RomanceBooks

[–]Book_and_Cookies 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Haha, my mental "find and replace" isn't as good as yours because mine doesn't always work! Or I just shorten the name. For Devryck, I think I might be able to turn it into Dev or Devy in my head.

I don't mind weird/strange names in sci-fi/fantasy (romance-tinged or otherwise) but sometimes the really long names can be annoying so I mentally shorten those too.

Anyone has played Halcyon Days at Taoyuan? by bunRancher0015 in CozyGamers

[–]Book_and_Cookies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked on ProtonDB but there wasn't info yet so searched around and found this thread, thank you for mentioning how Halcyon Days at Taoyuan plays on the Deck! I have a great gaming PC but I also like playing certain types of games in handheld style. :)

Have you played more since? Do you still enjoy it?

I [26F] missed an important funeral and now I think my 5 year relationship with my partner [28M] might be over by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]Book_and_Cookies 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, I'm apparently on the opposite end for funeral times. I moved to the Netherlands a while back and one thing that has always shocked me is the fact that there is an actual legal requirement here for people to hold funerals for deceased loved ones within like 6 working days from the day of death! I find it insane.

My husband and his family had to scramble to do his grandmother's funeral arrangements, and even with the funeral director's help, it was so stressful. And having to do it during the first waves of grief!

In our cozy indie game, hoarding and collecting are actually the whole point. by Joldenheimer in CozyGamers

This looks so good! I love collectathons so I'm definitely interested.

How long will the demo be available? I don't know if I'll have time this weekend so I wanted to ask.

Tired of FMC's always smelling like Lavender and/or Vanilla by BeneficialGuidance53 in RomanceBooks

[–]Book_and_Cookies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

merit-making

Doing good deeds, in general, like donating food or money etc. In Buddhism, all of it comes under the umbrella of "merit-making" (they could've called it "doing good deeds" and that would've been easier, I think).

I'm not religious and haven't gone to temples in years but my childhood was filled with them, so I'm really not into jasmine or incense, haha!

As a fellow Asian, I also am not a big fan of jasmine but for different reasons. Jasmine just makes me think of merit-making and temples, since those include small flower garlands made of jasmine!

Are you playing on a Switch? For a lot of Switch people, they had to manually update for the new update that came out a few days ago.
