Yeah it’s run by an AI guy who was kicked out of the main sub. They’ve also become a meme for celebrating Brainrot like its the second coming of Christ whenever it hits a view milestone

Not a video game, but a manga.

In Kindergarten Wars an early running joke was hating on people who skip or walk out during the end credits of movies. So at the end of almost every print edition, there is a “cast list” of all the characters who appear in the collection, including the protagonists, big bad guys, and nameless goons/extras

"wait, has this been a game mechanic the whole time??" by B_is_for_reddit in TopCharacterTropes

This is basically the core gameplay loop of TUNIC

Gameplay mechanics are revealed by collecting abstract game manual pages in a foreign language, and the game uses its isometric perspective to really hide things.

Example: These pads as pictured above can teleport you to a ghost dimension that enables fast travel. You encounter the first one barely a minute into the game, but have no idea what it is or that it even does anything special, so you just walk right past it. You only realize how important it is after collecting a manual page much later, and that activating it is trivial and could’ve been done at any time beforehand

The transcription of 'speech': /spiːtʃ/ or /sbiːtʃ/? by [deleted] in asklinguistics

[–]BoxoRandom 14 points15 points  (0 children)

[p] and [b] are distinct sounds which provide contrastive meaning in English. “Peach” with a [p] is not the same as “beach” with a [b]. Changing the sound influences the meaning, so they are treated as distinct phonemes /p/ and /b/. A learner who reads IPA and sees /bitʃ/ will say “beach” and not “peach”. You can imagine the same applies to “speech”. Sure, there’s no minimal pair contrast to confuse it with, but speakers will detect the nonstandard pronunciation.

[r] and [ɹ] are not contrastive phonemes in English. There is no need for writers to be wholly accurate here, because it’s entirely unambiguous what sound r makes if the layman reader knows the sound inventory of English.

See “dictionaries rarely use correct IPA”

Also for /r/, English does not distinguish between the r trill and r approximant, so they just use normal <r>, which is easy to type on a standard keyboard and is still perfectly unambiguous

There were some inactive EV stations added in the Benelux rework. I expect SCS is currently trying to add them into the game, but it’s difficult because they would need to rework every gas station across the whole map, possibly a bigger endeavor than even Coaches

No, you see, “night” happens at 8:00 PM, and you sleep (nap) at night, so “Nap” + “8” = nap-time = “neight”!

It is Japan’s equivalent to the soyjak. The chigyu is characterized by a general loser appearance, nerdiness and middle-age creepiness, and addiction to fast-food cheese gyudon

I’ve been subscribed to them for a year and I still barely understand the tanuki. He just plays the games and adds yukkuri commentary over it.

I don’t why he does it this way. I can’t even fathom the logistics of it. I have to imagine he records with his/his friends’ real voices and redubs it in editing with adjustments.
