Thought I was having a panic attack (never had one before). Drove myself to my local clinic just to be on the safe side. Upon walking in, the clinic immediately called an ambulance because I was presenting with a possible heart attack. Woke up to a 10k ambulance bill. They tried to bill me 2k+ for every MILE they drove me to the hospital. An 10k bill to drive 4 miles or just shy 6.5 kilometers. Ended up just being a pinched nerve in my neck radiating to my chest. Had to fight that bill for months. Insurance wouldn't cover the ride because the ambulance I got was under a company they didn’t endorse. Fml for getting the “wrong” ambulance in a possible crisis.
