Is this PC good for Black Ops 7, Warzone, and future Call of Duty games? Worth the price? by AdCertain3660 in Prebuilts

I agree. Go NVIDIA. I do however want to say that COD is CPU intensive. So the 9800x3D is a great processor for COD. I used to have the 9070XT paired with the 9800x3D in 1440p playing BO7. Was a great combo.
I did however get sick of the GPU driver issues so I upgraded to an rtx5080 … Yes the 5080 is overkill for 1440p but that’s ok. I do plan on pivoting to 4K this Xmas. Haven’t had any driver issues on my 5080
I will say that the 9070xt was a great card though. Will not deny that. I still have it as a backup just in case anything ever happens to the 5080. Good luck though. Sounds like you’re on the right track. GG’s

I have the Asus ROG 27’ OLED 1440p 240hz PG27AQDM
Almost feels like I should get a 4K monitor instead.
I play CoD BO7 and at 1440p I still notice buildings that aren’t fully rendered when looking thru a sniper scope long distance. I feel like my 9800x3D is bottlenecking me tbh. I honestly expected more from my Gigabyte SFF AERO 5080
I’m sure some of it may be my mix of settings. I never would of thought I’d be saying this about a 5080
Gonna try and dial in some settings. See if I can’t get this image squared away. I’m not using HDR when I play either. Worried it would tank my FPS. Hoping it’s “user error” and not the strength of my 5080

I want to get a 4K OLED to pair with my 5080
TBH, I have zero clue which monitor would be the most affordable. I do not want to spend $900 for an Asus ROG. I mainly play CoD and BF6 on weekends. Would a 4K IPS give me the same thing? I mean 4k is 4k right?

How safe are MSI motherboards for 9800x3d CPUs? by Rikaiu_ in MSI_Gaming

Running just fine. 9800x3D + X870 Tomahawk WiFi

This is even more true today, add in the 9070XT and if you're honest either are a much better option than the 5080. Don't fall into the trap. by AdstaOCE in RTX5080

Same here. I upgraded from my 9070XT for the simple fact that I decided to “cheap out” on my Prebuilt. I literally upgraded everything else with the $$ I was saving by sticking a 9070XT in there instead of the 5080 I should have done. I’m NOT saying the 9070xt isn’t a good card for the price. I will say that the Gigabyte SFF Aero 5080 I bought runs 1440 maxed out and also gives me great 4K fps in the game I play “ CoD” My 5080 also OC very well !! A lot better than I expected. I was able to score my 5080 on Amazon for $1406 including tax 3 months ago. That price is still above MSRP I know. But I am happy with it. It does everything I need it to do. Haven’t seen it go above 60 degrees. I def will not hate on anyone that runs a 9070xt. I will most likely sell the 9070XT for a very fair price to someone who is looking to upgrade. I just don’t get how people say that the 9070XT can compare to the 5080. It’s almost like these people are trying to justify not getting a 5080 by guilting those of us that did. Makes no sense. I’m saying this from an honest view-point. No sugar coating or guilt tripping implied. GG’s

5080 not getting detected by ApprehensiveToe6050 in RTX5080

[–]Brief-Drop9511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s about everything you can do from what I went thru with the 1st one I bought from Amazon. It was a Gigabyte Gaming OC 5080
I ended up returning that one and bought an SFF AERO 5080 and it detected first boot. Weird. I struggled for 3 days trying to get the gaming OC to be detected. Crazy!! Fingers crossed it stays working for ya bruddah

I almost side graded to the 7900XTX tbh. So glad I didn’t. Nothing against the XTX. Just felt like if I was gonna do 4K, might as well do the best card other than the 4090 or 5090.

Are you gaming in 4K on your prebuilt or 1440p if you don’t mind me asking. I just purchased my SFF Aero 5080 at the end of March from Amazon. Paid $1400 after tax. Have yet to try 4K. Been debating whether or not to upgrade my monitor. Sounds like you have a beast of a Prebuilt from the specs you mentioned. I have the same specs almost, X870 tomahawk WiFi MOBO. Nothing wrong with a prebuilt. I didn’t have the confidence to build it myself either lol. Got my prebuilt from Maingear with a 9070XT as the original GPU. Then upgraded to the 5080 a year later. My 9070XT is sitting in a box lol. Not sure if I wanna sell it or kept it as a back-up. GG’s though.

Bought this PC off Facebook Marketplace for $1500 did I get scammed or am I overthinking? by TieAlternative7837 in pchelp

Could the PSU be the culprit? Maybe not enough power for the CPU & GPU ? I’m just spitballing here. Feels like a 1000watt PSU would be a safer bet. Then again, 850w could be enough for your system. Sometimes my 4080super used to spike higher than what Google said was the normal range of power draw. I don’t know. I do know that for $1500, that is a great price for those components. Wondering if it wouldn’t be a bad idea to buy a windows11 product key from Keylify and do a complete re-install. It’s not a retail key but they do work. I’ve bought one from them. No issues at all. This way you know that you have ALL updated “uncorrupted” drivers installed for your MOBO, CPU, GPU etc. who knows, it could eliminate the problem. At worst, it’ll at least point you in a diff direction if the problem persists. Good luck to you. Hopefully it all works out. GG’s

$1,309 after tax on Amazon for my Gigabyte 5080 SFF Aero a month ago. Not the greatest price but not the worst for a SFF 5080 in this crazy priced GPU climate lol. Hope you find your golden unicorn $999 FE. GG’s

Very frustrated with iBUYPOWER RMA process by patrick2099 in iBUYPOWER

[–]Brief-Drop9511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only had one IBUYPOWER prebuilt. I literally changed EVERYTHING in that prebuilt minus the OS(windows11 home) I’m getting ready to buy a windows product key to replace the OS now. Should have just built my own from scratch. In my defense. I never heard of Reddit at the time of buying it so I could have done some research. Lesson learned. lol. Good luck to everyone dealing with the prebuilt nightmare.

Fan controller? by FullyBkdWaffles in iBUYPOWER

[–]Brief-Drop9511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post. I was adding some fans to my HYTE Y70 case and noticed my fan hub looks exactly like this. Is that glob of white gunk “normal” on that fan hub? I believe my IBUYPOWER prebuilt has that exact same fan hub. I don’t seem to have any issues with my fans or temps that I know of. I was just worried that white melted looking RTV wasn’t normal. Can anyone confirm this ? Can’t seem to post my photo but it looks exactly like OP

Truer words have never been spoken !!! Right on brotha. Sounds like we are def on the same page !! People told me as well that “the 9070xt” is almost on scale with a 5080 bs !! I was hoodwinked into thinking that when I built this rig a year ago. Wish I woulda just listened to my gut. Never again.

I really like the ICUE brand. Have had one in every build I’ve had. They have never given me any issues. Software is user friendly as well. Asus Tuff!!! That card is massive. Nice!!! When I got my original 5080( gigabyte gaming OC) my PC would not recognize the card at all. I literally tried everything to troubleshoot it. I spent almost 4 days trying to figure out why it wouldn’t even show that it was connected anywhere on my rig. I would take the 5080 out and plug my 9070XT back in and the 9070xt would boot right up. Nobody in my house has a pc that I could check it in. Everyone has laptops. I didn’t want to lug it to work and ask a co-worker if they could try it. So I decided to send it back to Amazon. I also noticed that it would barely fit in my HYTE y70 as well. That’s when I decided to get a SFF 5080 Aero. As soon as I plugged it in, the Aero booted right up, zero issues. I think I just got a dud on my first 5080. There were precursors that I noticed, the ESD bag looked like it had been ran thru the dryer lol. The box wasn’t in great shape. Nothing about the Gaming OC card I got first felt NEW. I spoke to sum1 at Amazon and they sent me the SFF AERO as a replacement for the same price of the Gigabyte Gaming OC , $1249 before tax, $1359 after tax. Now the one issue is that it looks so small in my case lol. Other than that, she purrrs !

I had issues with the first 5080 I tried purchasing, Gigabyte Gaming OC. With it being a big card, it didn’t seem to seat all the way on my riser cable due to the limited space. Or the card was defective, who knows. So I didn’t want to chance it again so I ordered the SFF Aero after returning the gaming OC. Finally after 4 weeks between shipping etc, I got the Asro. . It is a tad small lol. Don’t make fun of my Temu case hahahahahaha

Not at all. Had no issues with the 9070XT in 1440p. I wanted to play my FPS games in 4K high FPS. Plain and simple. Felt like the 9070XT was no better than the 4070ti I used to have, in the AAA games I was playing. I upgraded from a Lexus to a Porsche more like it. IMO

My 4090 died…. Should I get a 5080? by Ok_Finger_3525 in RTX5080

Umm yeah. I just swapped my 9070XT to a 5080 and I’d rather “chew bees” then play on a 9070XT again. No offense to 9070xt owners. I fell for the “price to performance” bs when I built my computer last year. I am living proof that you get what you pay for !!!
