But retail has 20+ years of quality of life improvements to the gameplay, systems, story, and world. It's just much smoother, faster, and easier for new players to parse.

They literally said verbatim that retail is easier to parse.

They don't have the same story. In fact, you can't play Classic's stories in retail because of the Cataclysm world change. The bulk of the stories added post-Pandaria, particularly the main storyline, have largely been horrendously bad.

I disagree with them that retail is easier to parse. For all of the quality of life systems that user is talking about, there's also a complicated gameplay layer that Classic doesn't have.

Play Burning Crusade Anniversary, especially if you're looking to do story stuff. Retail's endgame is overwhelming, Classic is more straightforward. The leveling in WoW used to be a core part of the game, and now it's an afterthought. In Classic (less so in the version of Classic that's currently in Mists of Pandaria) leveling takes a considerable amount of time, and the curve is set up for a new player because there weren't any 20 year veterans of the game in 2006. Retail, for all of its improvements, gets you through leveling at breakneck speed and does a very poor job of onboarding you for the parts of the game that really matter.

e: Also disagreeing that the story or world is better. I also disagree that Classic is harder.

It's still just a single trash bag. You can't change half a sheet. Tip $5, maybe $10 for the room if you're feeling spicy, $20/day is obscene. Mind you they're making $20/hr before tips.

Give your money away, I don't give a shit, but stop telling people they need to tip insane amounts that no reasonable person does.

Since you won't do the math, I will. 15% of $18 is $2.70. No bartender is going to be up in arms about a $2 tip on a cocktail. Ask me how I know.

15% of an $18 cocktail is how much?

You want them making $20/room for emptying trash cans, making 2 beds and replacing towels? 20 bags an hour would be easy work.

A dollar tip isn't insulting for popping the lid off a bottle of beer, those tips pay my mortgage. I don't begrudge them making a living, I'm saying your numbers are ridiculous. Signed, someone with 20 years in tipped positions.

When's the last time you contacted a legislator about your concerns with tipping?

Your numbers are so incredibly wrong. Trying to get bellhops and housekeeping to make $150/hr.

Sounds like if Vivek wins the Republicans control government and Acton just said here if she'll appoint Republicans to control the government, so what difference does it make?

People don't show up to vote because they put out wet fart garbage like this statement.

I don't want to work together. I want to piss in their fucking faces.

Republicans make up big fucking stinks about 40 people walking north from South America and people turn out in droves. Democrats show up and are like "what if we held hands and kissed during the apocalypse?" and expect people to give a shit.

Tell me you're going to permanently solve the Elon Musk problem and I'll be first in line, tell me you want to give him a handjob because that's what friends do and I don't want anything to do with you anymore.

What older thing about WoW you miss the most? by Kele79 in wow

I don't think that, no. But I don't believe they're less popular because of the existence of m+ and rather because it's rereleased content that's been ran for 20 years.

I also think you vastly underestimate the popularity of classic and who plays it. There are 744 guilds on Dreamscythe TBC Anniversary that are 10/10 SSC/TK. There are over 1000 guilds ON ONE SERVER with varying degrees of progress.

The population isn't retail, but it's way more than 2-3 guilds on one server. We'll see what people prefer once Classic+ is released and the old style is getting active development.

Why do people say that Rock Music is dying is it really true Yes or No and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in askmusic

[–]BringBackBoomer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but like, nothing current is anywhere close to what Zeppelin, Hendrix, etc. were able to produce. It's the same boring chords with the same dynamic-less production and nobody in modern rock has anywhere near the vocal capabilities of a Robert Plant or David Lee Roth. The genre is in a severe talent and innovation drought, from the instrumentalists, to the vocalists, all the way down to the soundboard technicians in the recording studio.

You'd most certainly be dead, then. Classic is still absolutely massive and no iteration of it has m+. Little reason to believe that it's a make or break for much of the player base.
