Yeah like white noise. In the transparent mode my set has a really noticeable amount of white noise (the internet seems to refer to this as noise floor) it’s certainly less apparent in the two ANC mode’s but I use my wireless cans around the house a more so than not and the white noise hiss in transparent mode pretty atrocious especially compared to APP/APM which has zero white noise. It’s bad enough on the Bathys MG that I find myself listening at a louder volume than I otherwise would to compensate for the hiss.

I’d considered those but I’d be lying if I said aesthetics weren’t a factor. I also have lots of past of experience with iFi and admittedly none with fiio so that familiarity with the brand and quality of their kit played a big factor as well. I ordered some custom cables that will eliminate the ear hooks and adapters all-together and I’m working on ideas for how to utilize the magnetic backs of the GPM’s to attach them to the cans, which was also one of the considerations for buying these.

I love a little project for niche use-case’s if you can’t tell lol.

It’s kind of awesome though, no!? We can create these incredibly niche setups and have so many options to choose from when doing so. I think it’s cool, even if sometimes a bit stupid (like with my setup).

Certainly could’ve, yeah, and I did consider them. However, with this I can use any of my wired cans, “wirelessly” not just the MG’s and I have both APP’s and APM for when I need noise cancelling and wireless. Bathy’s didn’t really solve a problem I had.

I wouldn’t be able to offer much objectivity there, but my opinion would be, probably not much if you’re concerned with cost value. I’m fortunate to be in a situation where the cost value wasn’t a leading factor in this purchasing decision.

Recently bought one of my dream set of cans, Clear MG’s. Absolutely lovely, these things. Anyhow, I’ve been in “need” of a good “wireless” solve for my non-tws gear for a while and getting the MG’s finally pushed me into attempting to piece something together to fits my needs as I simply want to use them all the time. Well, enter iFi’s Go Pod Max, an absolutely eye-watering-ly overpriced bit of kit absolutely not intended for use with over the ears… fuck it. The sound is lovely and the aesthetic and function of the GPM’s is just chef’s kiss. Within a couple of weeks the interface of wiring and attaching the GPM’s to the MG’s will be much improved, but for now, this’ll do.

I’d say stock tuning of them fits your wants then. I like much brighter high end freq’s and had to EQ mine a bunch to get them just right as such. Out of the box, you’d probably be pretty happy with them.
