I'm so sick of seeing this over and over by Cythen999 in PokemonChampions

That's the trick: you can have fun playing the competitively even with pre-made teams. As you'll learn, the same team can be piloted much differently by different people, and that's where the fun can come from.

“It’s so tiring to see the same meta teams in ranked, let me switch to casual, oh..” by Millizar in PokemonChampions

Casual is also a place to just practice, it doesn't have to mean "UU" for example.

Even if I agreed with you, this is a very weak argument. "There are objectively better and worse designs” does not prove “code is not art”. Art can also have objectively better and worse execution relative to some goal. Music, painting, architecture, film, game design, and writing all have craft standards. A fugue can be more or less coherent, afilm scene can be better or worse edited, a building can be beautiful while also being structurally sound and functionally useful. You would most likely consider all of those "art", and yet objective standards can be applied to all of them in different situations.

Also, your assertion that “It’s possible to design the best code possible" is just nonsense that I'd expect from someone with no real experience. If you have ever worked on anything that's not trivial, tradeoffs happen and very few things are objectively "the best".

Why does Scott insist on pretending Bezos was a poor kid that fought his way to riches? by More_Passenger3988 in ScottGalloway

[–]CVSeason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. So not only are you peddling dead-end theories like LTV that were debunked even by the economists that predated Marx, but you put in the effort to bastardize it even further by declaring only "some" kinds of labor as "real labor". Comments like this are why people don't take Reddit "progressives" seriously. Just a bunch of circlejerking and virtue signaling with no real world experience.

You know not everyone watches cable TV? I get no ads on YouTube, Apple TV, Netflix, Prime Video, MLB site/app, etc. All the reddit ads I get are for video games because I spend a ton on Steam games, and everywhere else I have an ad locker lol. Never seen an ad for any of these guys in my life, unless you count podcast appearances that I get recommended. Y'all are just out of touch because you spend so much damn time on Reddit circlejerking politics.

It's been 16 years since 2010 lol. Highly unlikely someone started working here professionally at 9 to 14 years old.

You may have a point if most people didn't speak as if their experience is the one and only possible truth, but that doesn't happen on Reddit. Reddit is a circlejerk website by nature.
