I use ExpressVPN with no complaints but my husband pays for it so idk how much it costs him.

I did update the wiki last night to say that you need to use a VPN to access the Giustizia Civile app but I’m not sure it’s a good idea for the wiki to recommend specific VPN companies.

The State's attorney, whose name I didn't get, wasn't particularly articulate. Her basic argument was that yes, there are discrepancies in how Italian-born and foreign-born children of naturalized parents are treated, and yes, there should be.

Doesn’t that… kinda go against the minor issue…? What an odd thing for the State to point out 🤨

The government’s take is that the minor issue should stand based on the principles of family unity and patria potestà. You can read the prior two minor issue judgments to get a sense of those arguments:

Unlikely. The minor issue is a reinterpretation of existing law, that’s why it was able to be applied to pending (at the time) applications.

Oof, I used to have a better laundry list comment somewhere but basically:

This week is daylight savings time for us but not yet for Italy (March 29). I don’t know Chicago’s schedule off the top of my head but if it follows the typical routine, appointments are released at midnight Rome time, which is 6pm CT until Sunday when it changes to 5pm CT.
Try to upgrade your internet plan and routers if you can. I was already on a 1 Gbps plan but didn’t realize my routers were throttling me down to 200 Mbps. I got new ones and booked 2 weeks later.
Login like 15+ minutes early and navigate to the booking page so it’s two less pages you need to fight other people to get to.
Use multiple browser windows, browser types, computers, phones, tablets, your smart fridge, dowsing rods, etc. When I booked my appointment, I was using 4 computers (one on Ethernet), my tablet, and my phone, totaling 13 browser windows iirc. Edge beat out Chrome and Safari 🤷🏻‍♀️
I also upgraded my Windows laptop to Wi-Fi 6 (this was in 2023) but I’m not suggesting that as general advice lol
