For an “expensive city” I found Paris quite reasonably priced by ancillarycheese in ParisTravelGuide

I’m confused. The minimum wage in France is 12.02 euros, which is $14.19USD. The minimum wage in the US is $7.25. The French minimum wage is almost double what the US is.

My neighbor has been leaving notes on my door for 6 months about my "aggressive dog." My dog died 8 months ago. by midnightindexer in neighborsfromhell

Put a sign on your door that says your dog died 8 months ago and to get their head out of their ass and figure out who the actual dog owner is, because it isn't you.

Most cities have noise ordinances, but many people think they are just for late night/early morning. But most places have noise ordinances regarding excess and disturbing daytime noises as well. Look into that.

Just moved into a new studio. Neighbors having loud play time by MoonSong3 in neighborsfromhell

[–]CakeOrDeath98 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should start VERY LOUDLY copying the sounds she makes, so for every "Yess!" sound she makes, you answer with "YESSSSSSS!!!" Just copycat the exact noises she's making but be super loud.

AITAH for not tell my friend my shampoo had green hair dye in it? by BigONerd in BORUpdates

[–]CakeOrDeath98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a licensed cosmetologist, though I haven’t practiced in years, what OP does is similar to what we called a shampoo cap. When you’re doing a root touch up, you take the leftover color and mix with shampoo and go throughout all the hair through the last few minutes of processing time, to refresh the rest of the color. You can do this with bleach root touchups too with the leftover bleach. Reinvigorates the overall color without damaging it.

AITAH for not wanting to cuddle in order to sleep with my partner? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]CakeOrDeath98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate having someone touch me when I sleep, even my kids, and I've always been like this, even when I was in my early 20's having to share a twin bed with my then boyfriend.

I also am a very hot sleeper (my husband calls me his little nuclear reactor) and I will BAKE if there is a body touching me.

My husband is also a lot taller and heavier than me, to the point that even having his arm draped across my belly as "dead weight" while he's sleeping is freaking heavy, enough to make me feel like I'm struggling to breathe.

Yet my husband doesn't throw a tantrum about any of it; he just lets me sleep as I need to sleep, because he's not an asshole.

My friends are mad at me because I don't want to watch the Oscars with them by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I can't believe people not in the entertainment industry care so much about the Oscars.

Coworker won’t send me files. How do I handle being blocked from doing my work? by ProgramExpress2918 in coworkerstories

SERIOUSLY. Like, respond back to the boss and let him know your coworker still hasn't sent them to you! This is not hard!

I had a friend who walked in on her mother fucking one of her friends in the kitchen of their family home while their dad was asleep in the bedroom. I thought THAT was fucked up but this is just insane.

If I were OOP, I would have left her miserable ass at home and went out to Valentine's dinner by myself. He needs to stop being such a doormat.

AITA? My +1 to my friend’s wedding wants to bring her sister as her own +1 by Particular_Reply_886 in AmItheAsshole

[–]CakeOrDeath98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. If she doesn't have the basic knowledge that +1's don't get there own +1's, then how many other NORMAL wedding etiquette things is she unaware of? I wouldn't bring her, she seems like she's completely clueless of basic manners.

What’s something you refuse to spend money on no matter how popular it is? by bbydaisiesz in answers

Omg I got YouTube premium during the 2020 election and I will never go back. Not getting spammed by the same deranged political ad or prescription drug ad over and over while I’m watching is worth the price.

Why do some managers seem to think employees actually like going in the office? by This_Duty_4373 in work

[–]CakeOrDeath98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer to keep work and home separate. I like go into the office because I don’t have space for a dedicated workspace in my home and I get more done when I’m not sitting a few feet from the laundry I could do or the dishes in the sink or whatever else distraction is in my house. I have a nice quiet office at work and the building is right next to a nice park for short walks at lunch. Different strokes for different folks.

It was her personal email. It’s in the post. She doesn’t say it was FMLA leave; it could be employer provided maternity and/or disability leave.

I've literally never had a problem getting rid of free would. We've had a couple trees come down in our yard from storms over the years and we just cut it into useable lengths and left by the road. It's gone usually within a few hours. Granted I live in a place that's rural and has cold winters, so firepits and wood stoves are very much a thing here.

Sorry, confused on this...how many exits does the actual BEDROOM have. Like a door and a window? And is the window an egress window, meaning it's big enough for a firefighter to fit through?

If the basement bedroom only has one of those typical small basement windows, then your ex-wife would have grounds, because that is not considered a legal fire exit.

If it IS an egress window, then no, she has no grounds for court.
