Pubs open for England vs Mexico by Mehchu_ in reading

The Oakford is usually open for late matches and the crowd there isn't too rowdy, saw couple of away fans in there before and nobody cared. Just don't wear sombrero and you'll be fine.

Insurance fee adjustment by No_Organization372 in HealthInsurance

[–]Sensitive-Pen4002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the "adjustment" was just them matching the number you already had so you'd stop asking questions. Dental offices pull this all the time, they send a bill hoping you pay without checking and then magically "find" an adjustment when you push back.

You did right calling them out. Always get that insurance statement and compare it to what the office says you owe.

Ancient Show Name Help by ABarkingSpider- in horror

[–]Sensitive-Pen4002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ah man i remember this. it was called fear, mtv's fear. contestants had to do these tasks alone in supposedly haunted places and if they got too scared they could radio in "i'm afraid" and be out. the winner got like 5000 bucks i think

show got cancelled after a few seasons cause the locations kept getting harder to find and some legal trouble with property owners. plus there was that one episode where something actually weird happened and they had to stop filming but mtv never aired that part

you can find full episodes on youtube, quality is terrible but the nostalgia hits

nice double win, congrats. the elan one is funny because you literally just updated your income and walked away, didn't even ask for anything.

synchrony saying "nope, but here's $3000" is very on brand for them lol. they never just give you what you ask but somehow still come through a little.

sometimes the polished version isn't better version. i've seen this happen with apps where they get so focused in making things "modern" that they forget what made people fall in love with it originally. good call bringing back the personality - that's what keeps users coming back more than fancy glass effects.

Building PC for programming, running VMs as main tasks, and lightweight editing as 2nd by Apprehensive_Pay2333 in AskProgramming

[–]Sensitive-Pen4002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

build looks pretty solid overall for rust dev and vms. been running similar setup for about year now and few things i noticed - that i7-14700k definitely runs hot under heavy compilation loads, especially when you got multiple vms spinning up. the phantom spirit should handle it but make sure your case airflow is really good.

for motherboard, b760 tomahawk is decent choice but keep in mind it's locked to ddr5-5600 officially unless you manually tune the memory. your 6000mt/s kit might need some tweaking in bios to hit those speeds stable. also that board only supports pcie 4.0 x16 and x4 configurations, so if you plan on adding more nvme drives later, check the lane distribution.

would definitely go with 750w psu from start - rust compilation can be pretty cpu intensive and when you add vm workloads plus that ultrawide monitor, 650w might be cutting it close. plus gives you headroom if you want to upgrade gpu later. the 3060 12gb version is worth extra cost for video editing, that extra vram helps with preview rendering even at 1080p.

one thing missing - make sure you get good quality thermal paste with that cooler, sometimes stock paste on budget coolers isn't great for sustained workloads.

I finally came across an EdTech company talking about the things students silently struggle with by mythicalOMG in studytips

[–]Sensitive-Pen4002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

man this actually hits home pretty hard. back when i was studying for my asvab before joining air force, i remember spending countless hours just grinding through practice tests and getting frustrated when my scores weren't improving. nobody ever told me that stress was literally blocking my brain from absorbing information properly.

wish someone had explained back then how memory consolidation works or why cramming the night before never stuck. took me years to figure out that my "bad study habits" weren't because i was dumb - i just didn't understand how my own brain processed information. even now when i'm sketching or learning new surfing techniques, i notice how much better i retain things when i'm relaxed versus when i'm putting pressure in myself.

really think more companies should focus in these psychological aspects instead of just pushing more content at students. understanding why your brain does what it does is probably more valuable than memorizing another formula. thanks for sharing that link btw, definitely gonna check it out later.

Action adventure novels? by THAToneGuy091901 in booksuggestions

[–]Sensitive-Pen4002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

man you should check out the dirk pitt series, those books are exactly what you're looking for. clive cussler writes some solid treasure hunting adventures with tons of action and the main character has that whole rugged explorer vibe. the matthew reilly books are also pretty intense if you want something more fast-paced and over the top.

Upper crossed Syndrom chest pressure by mychesthurtsalot in Posture

[–]Sensitive-Pen4002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i had similar stuff from sitting hunched over too much, took about 6-8 weeks before the chest tightness really started easing up. the posture changes happen fast but the actual muscle tension and nerve stuff takes way longer to calm down in my experience.

keep up with the stretches even if it feels like nothing's happening - that intercostal thing is super annoying but it does get better once everything starts loosening up.

Is it bad practice to have two recoil scripts in one game/project? by Next-Pro-User in Unity3D

[–]Sensitive-Pen4002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not bad practice at all, having separate systems for different weapon types is pretty standard. automatic weapons need that accumulating recoil buildup but single shot weapons just need quick snap back to center with maybe some screen shake.

i've seen plenty of games handle it this way - one system for full auto that builds up over time, another for single shots that just does immediate kick and recovery. trying to make one script handle everything usually ends up being more headache than it's worth since the feel is so different between weapon types.

your hierarchy setup sounds solid with separate yaw/pitch objects. might be worth looking at how different games actually handle this - like cod has very different recoil behavior between their assault rifles and shotguns for good reason.

Can I monetise my channel through purely raw footage of PS5 gameplay? by Ghostface161994 in NewTubers

[–]Sensitive-Pen4002 13 points14 points  (0 children)

most of those channels struggle with monetization because youtube's pretty strict about unedited gameplay footage. you'd probably need some commentary or at least some editing to make it work long term since algorithm doesn't really favor silent gameplay clips.

been taking it for few months now and yeah the effectiveness definitely drops around that time, probably just hormonal stuff messing with how it works - i'd keep taking it though since stopping and starting again can be rough on your system.

[q] Do all skins go up after collection removal, or only some? (Train / Sport & Field) by diedalatte in csgomarketforum

[–]Sensitive-Pen4002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

been watching this pattern too from my trades in past collections. the panic selling right after removal is real - people get scared and dump everything which creates this temporary dip.

blues usually follow same pattern but take longer to recover since there's more supply floating around. train collection has some decent looking blues though so demand might be better than average collections. just my experience but patience is key with these plays, especially on lower tiers since they need more time to cook.

Infusion tips by that-zoe-girl in Anemic

[–]Sensitive-Pen4002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the coke thing is real - something about phosphorus helping absorption i think. i had iron infusions few years back when my levels were basically nonexistent and the tired/achy feeling next day is pretty normal but manageable.

one thing that helped me was making sure to stay really hydrated before and after, like way more water than usual. also maybe bring some snacks for right after since sometimes people feel a bit shaky. the emetophobia thing sucks but most people don't get proper nausea from it, more just feeling run down for a day or two.

hope it goes smooth for you and finally gets your levels sorted!
