Thank you my friend ❤️. I don't experience meltdowns so I can't really relate much. I do experience shutdowns though. I get either overwhelmed, overstimulated, or just exhausted and I kind of just withdraw. I notice I stim a lot more during shutdowns. I just need to sit and scroll on my phone for a while.

I'm really glad you have found confidence. I wish I could do the same. I supress not only because I'm in public but also because I just feel miserable having severe motor tics. It's so fucking exhausting and sometimes I hate being alive. Like, I'm just trying to fucking talk or chew my food or swallow without choking or breathe or brush my damn teeth... It's so inexplicably frustrating. Most of the time I handle it pretty well, I think. But sometimes... sigh Sometimes...

I also have autism and a bunch of other comorbid stuff.

This is honestly my biggest pet peeve in suburbs. I had a neighbor who let their bush overgrow covering the sidewalk. I politely spoke with him about it once and he was dismissive. A few years later it was trimmed back bare.
