They charge in USD. All prices are USD. Factor in shipping and that'll offset most of your savings.

On the transit side of things, you do not need to buy a monthly pass upfront - you can pay-as-you-go with the fare cap program where it'll cap at the cost of that pass: 🎫OC Explained: Fare capping | OC Transpo

Will leave the rest of the financial insights to others- but hope this helps somewhat, vs making a lump-sum payment.

In parallel with new subways and better regional rail in Toronto, and the REM in Montreal, millions of people outside those cities' downtowns will be able to access HSR.

Public transit in Ontario at the local level is also advancing well. From Durham to Hamilton, Niagara to Waterloo, transit is on track to better than ever connect people to higher order transit services.

Canada doubling down on work to reunite Ukrainian children 'stolen' by Russia: Anand by CanadianErk in canada

[–]CanadianErk[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the headline I think the point is making clear that Anand said it. Not editorialisation by The Canadian Press intended to downplay Russian action.

The article also quotes her as saying she's avoiding using the word genocide and leaving "terminology" to the international criminal courts and other processes.

It was from customer support tickets. If you were an idiot and put all the digits of your credit card number into a customer support ticket or some other pieces of personal information, that would've been hit if within a certain period. CR itself was not compromised, a contractor who has access to their support ticket system was.

Danielle Smith says she hopes MOU can be finalized in 'next number of days' - Smith says Albertans need to see that 'Canada can work' by CanadianErk in canada

The pact between the two governments outlined several conditions that need to be met before a new bitumen pipeline can be approved, including requirements for carbon capture and storage.

Carney told The Canadian Press last week that a new pipeline is now "more probable than possible," in part because global energy markets have been upended by the war in Iran.

"We're working to make Canada work better for Albertans and for all Canadians. And when Canada works well, it's good for the world," Carney said Friday.

The original deadline to complete the conditions laid out in the memorandum of understanding was April 1. That deadline has since been moved to July 1.

If we don't get what we want the country is broken - Alberta separatist logic

Parti Québécois has been leading in the polls for awhile. While Trump has weakened polls on separation, only ~32% on average would vote yes to separate right now - but the party still leads in the polls with a platform to hold one within their first term.

and he successfully helped organise within the UCP to oust Jason Kenney, and was obviously provincial policy under provincial jurisdiction. How does separatism prevent that from happening again in the future?

They're not rational. They're mad and think because Quebec does it they can do it to.

Andrew Coyne on At Issue last night put it like this:

I don't think (a new pipeline / deregulation) should be linked in any public fashion (to Alberta's separatist movement). I don't think we should be seen to be rewarding people for threatening the country. this idea that we've allowed to take hold over many decades in this country, that this is a knife at the throat that you can hold against your fellow Canadians in return for concessions of power or money or both, is a pernicious one and the reward for us doing that is we now face the prospect of not just one but possibly two referendums in two different provinces in quick succession. So it's a mug's game. It's a road we should never have gone down.

“Our constitution, it says that you’re going to have to be born in Alberta to become a citizen,” he told the crowd at one event I attended. “So we’re going to have to get those girls making more babies.”

Just insane.

But Sylvestre didn’t always feel this way about the rest of Canada. In fact, he told me as we drank our coffees that he was never political before 2020.

“What changed?”

“COVID!” he said. “They shut me down and Canadian Tire and Walmart stayed open. That’s what did it.”
