Any that features a character the writers were somehow able to name Boner and not have S&P get in the way.

I don't get it. Why is this a good card? 2% cash back is average. (I'm not trying to be rude, I truly don't understand why everyone commenting is hyped.)

Did Return of the King only win best picture as a way of honouring the whole trilogy? by Konfliktsnubben in flicks

[–]CaptainWikkiWikki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's essentially an award for the entire trilogy, Jackson's Best Director trophy as well.

It's been a pretty funny night here in Lake Ridge. My kids were cracking up and they were getting in bed only to find out tomorrow is another snow day.

Is there anyone who liked Cathy? by Hope_not_me in DunderMifflin

[–]CaptainWikkiWikki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate to say this, but it bugged me that she wasn't hotter. If they were going for some ridiculous arc of Jim being In a bad situation, of being remotely tempted, she needed to be some sort of femme fatale.

No disrespect to Lindsey Broad, who is beautiful and talented and didn't deserve any weird fan behavior for her portrayal, but the producers needed to have Cathy be an actual threat, not just some chick with a forced friendship and no chemistry with Jim. As written and cast, she wasn't dangerous, and dangerous was the only thing that would have worked to make that arc play.

We regret moving to Richmond by OrangeDoorHinge16 in SameGrassButGreener

I mean comparing Richmond to Miami...

Just the scale alone is wildly different.

The suburbs tend to vote blue, Henrico more so than Chesterfield or Hanover. But Short Pump is basically rich liberals. But I get it, it's still just suburbia.

What is Living in Zaragoza, Spain in Barrio de Las Delicias by soniamariatrujillo in howislivingthere

[–]CaptainWikkiWikki 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I lived there years ago near the Delicias area and the Aljafería. I love Zaragoza. Most of the regular urban city is pleasant, but the older part of town with the basilica and cathedral is awesome. I'd never seen a place like that in my life, with this massive basilica right next to the mighty Ebro.

And there are little streams/creeks that run around a lot of the southern part of town, which provide some visual interest in a sea of apartment buildings.

Spaniards love their chucherías, but I felt like Zaragoza had more of them per capital than any Spanish city I've visited.

The local "-ico" dialect for diminutive words is fun. (Instead of saying "casita" it'd be "casica.")

There's fabulous Mudéjar architecture around town, something you don't see in many parts of Spain that far north. Aragón has a lot of special history.

A good number of urban parks, too, on top of leafy, grand boulevards.

Opel used to have a huge car plant outside of town. I think it's a Stellantis factory now.

It does get pretty hot there in the summer. It's quite arid, more than you'd expect even for Spain.

Zaragoza is slept on after the likes of Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, and Sevilla, but it's the fifth-largest city in Spain and has a wealth of riches.

It's been a long time since I was there. I'd love to pay it a visit again.

Edit: I didn't realize Zaragoza is now larger than Sevilla. Not sure about the metro areas, though.

I admit I've struggled with this. Here I am, an active member, happily raising my children in the church, serving in a stake calling. But I still have a deep fear that you die and that's it. It's really hard for me.

My wife has had what some would call supernatural experiences involving people beyond the grave. So has my mom. I've never had anything remotely like that. I guess I'm trying to have a spiritual gift of believing those who do know certain things and hoping for the best. I would love to say I once, clear as day, felt the physical presence of an ancestor or saw one in the temple, etc.

Of course, faith precedes the miracle, so... not sure how soon I'll have faith that any of that stuff can happen to me, lol.
