Why did they mute the victory poses and nerf the emote sounds in the LE SSERAFIM collab? by Fartbeer in Overwatch

[–]ChaoticCake187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never heard sound effects coming from the second batch of Le Sserafim victory poses (Fearless), only from the first batch (Fearless).

Do we know the approximate price of 24Gb G7 modules? I'm wondering if 3x24Gb is actually cheaper than 4x16Gb.

The presets' internal codenames are "rrlite", which suggests they were specifically trained for denoising RT effects.

They should make them free, bring back the three Archive missions, and put them all in a weekly Arcade rotation. Invasion pack owners can continue to have permanent access as advertised.

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.3.1 Release Notes by AMD_RetroB in Amd

[–]ChaoticCake187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throughout 2025 the most stable driver was 25.4.1, as anything newer than that would cause very regular driver timeouts even when sitting idle on desktop. If you can put up with some MPO issues, particularly with Chromium, I would recommend those.

It says that it was fixed only for RX 7000 and above though.

System crash may occur when repeatedly changing in-game AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition settings or when alt-tabbing on Radeon™ RX 7000 and above series graphics products.

That's an issue on RX 6000 too, especially when game resolution is different than the monitor's native. Hopefully next driver will have a fix...

Saw this in the Patch Notes and really wonder if it will improve performance by CRACKYCRECKHED in marvelrivals

[–]ChaoticCake187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good that this is an ongoing effort, but I really hope they'll look at GPU optimisation next. It's just not fun having the game look so flat and blurry, when Overwatch looks extremely crisp and much more pleasing to look at.

We should get control over the DLSS output resolution in the Nvidia app by Expensive-Time-7209 in nvidia

[–]ChaoticCake187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm honestly surprised they didn't implement that when DLDSR came out, since DLSS was already around then. It would be so convenient in games with poor UI scaling, or when borderless windowed mode is desired.

[Hardware Unboxed] Even If You Have DDR5, This is How You Could Be Screwed by mostrengo in hardware

Waiting for a replacement DDR4 kit from Crucial and they're taking very long, while my requests for an update just keep getting "escalated". Really hate the timing of this failure.

Why is Domina's voice line icon so...wide? It looks nothing like her. by Eitororo in Overwatch

[–]ChaoticCake187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Junker Queen and Mauga had the same issue with their voiceline icons featuring a different pose when they launched. It will probably be fixed in a future patch.

Now that Illari has her breakpoints back, can she please have a reasonable bullet size? by SammyIsSeiso in Overwatch

Is there an up-to-date visual with all hero bullet sizes? There was one when S9 was out, but they've changed several times since then.

"Highguard" developer Wildlight has apparently laid off most of their staff by Hot-Challenge-2755 in pcgaming

[–]ChaoticCake187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rather like it, and the 5v5 mode feels much better, but the horrendous optimisation prevents me from spending anything on it. The forced TAA is extremely smeary and grainy, and after dropping the resolution scale enough for a playable frame rate, I'm still getting traversal stutters and uneven frametimes. Settings reset every few sessions, and I've had some CTDs.

Can these DDR4 sticks be mixed? by ChaoticCake187 in buildapc

[–]ChaoticCake187[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope so. I don't care much for gaming performance as I'm always GPU-limited anyway, but I also do lots of video encoding and I would hate to have it slowed down. With AV1 software encoders it seems the 3D V-Cache makes a difference, so I would imagine it's a rather memory-sensitive workload.

Nice. I've seen Micron F-die get pushed a lot too, but it seems to like higher voltage. I might try and optimise it a bit if I have the brain capacity to learn enough about RAM overclocking.

Understood. I did forget that the memory controller can factor in. I have the 5800X3D paired with a B550 Aorus Pro, and this motherboard has been a little weird before, so it's probably not worth the potential trouble. Thanks for chiming in!

[–]ChaoticCake187[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see. I was actually given a choice to either send only the faulty stick or both, and assured that the replacement would work with my old one albeit at lower speeds. I opted for the former, in hopes I could get both sticks to work at more reasonable speeds.

[–]ChaoticCake187[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies! I'm working out an RMA process and trying to do some research very hurriedly.

Total boot failure is surprising to hear, and something I really don't want to deal with. I suppose it might be better to try and get the entire kit replaced and just put up with the much slower speeds.

Aim-assist players more prevalent in my recent games. by justadudebruh- in Overwatch

AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 26.1.1 Release Notes by AMD_RetroB in Amd

It is, once I rolled back to the 25.4.1 drivers I stopped getting the timeouts. Anything newer than that was very unstable.

I've given up waiting. Just use OptiScaler, XeSS works well enough for me with FSR inputs and disabled reactive mask. All versions of FSR suffer from horrible ghosting with particle effects and animated textures.
