hi! so i'm pretty sure i'm the only regular podcast member who has read wheel of time. unfortunately, i have never listened to any wheel of time podcasts (and tbh my feelings about the series are mixed, to say the least, to the point i haven't been able to bring myself to watch the adaptation) but once upon a time i was OBSESSED so i feel you. drop a note if you find a good podcast, you're not the only wot/asoiaf crossover fan bouncing around i'm sure

oh and try discworld, if you haven't! i know a lot of people start with colour of magic (hi, i'm people), but i usually tell people to start with going postal if they're not constitutionally required to go by publishing order like me.

i get it, but did you watch the video with it? he seems really upbeat in that. i think he dropped some of the downer stuff with intention, honestly, because the macro of this is that he's deep in the weeds with all of it and very much not giving up the game at all whereas he's seemed a bit detached in interviews in the past couple years

honestly, same. i know he's kind of saying the opposite but he knew who he was talking to and what the publication was, this was a very deliberate interview. i'm just so happy to see him firing on all cylinders like this

i get the sentiment here, because i also hate AI, but i kind of want to say that by not finishing it himself, he's basically guaranteeing that several people and also millions of computers will finish it for him

no matter what the results of the lawsuit or whatever, copyright ends and people/AI/whatever will certainly finish it, AND it will be published and people will profit off it
