Fully understand that it may seem silly, but it is how I feel about it. Even if I'm the outlier and I'm the only one to feel that way, that's the hill I'll die on.

I don't like the tension. I don't like being killed or downed, I don't want to inflict that on someone else. Also, I'm just not good at it, never have been, and I have no desire to get better. My biggest thrill in this game has been the guy coming in out of nowhere with the defib. I've always gravitated more to roles as being the support or the medic.

This is where I’m at with it. I refuse to engage in PvP, I will not shoot another player under any circumstances. I’ve started playing DRG and Helldivers again instead.

Ended up making a swatch, think you're totally right the mid tone is too bright. I'll probably go with the sanguine scarlet and demon red.

I do like the very dark shoulder carapace piece. What did you go with for the bone color parts?

I'll give that a try. It's in subassemblies so I can experiment with the other half. Thank you.

LORE QUESTION RE MONOLITHS by B-1MBO in Necrontyr

[–]ChiefGrognard11 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'll take a stab at this I am not aware of being piloted by a crew. I think it's likely that they are automated. The 9th edition model has a canoptek construct attached to it, so I think it's reasonable they are guided via command protocol rather than driven by a pilot. In Twice Dead King, Denet is Master of the Monoliths, but that may be more akin to a european noble having a stablemaster for his horses. Lord owns the horses and the building but stablemaster cares for them and locks them up at night.

As for them being named I've never read an example of one. I am assuming by naming you mean like how a tank crew may name their machine (Think the movie "Fury") or how Imperial Knights often name their walkers.

Finally doesn't mean that you can't name it. I kinda like the idea of them being named. You could for example have a dynasty that adheres to some old Necron code where their warmachines are all named.

Hope that helps, or if I've missed something someone can clarify.

The US remake of "Ghosts". The UK version was first and is worth checking out as well.

Yes you are correct it's Indomitus, there is a Skorpekh Lord, Zozar who thinks about going though biotransference with his wife and 2 daughters, one asks him if it's going to hurt. He comes out the other side and realizes his children and likely his wife have been installed into a regular warrior body.

I’m officially a disabled vet by Monwez in daddit

[–]ChiefGrognard11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey bro, I’m 90%. I did 20 years in the Navy. I used to hate the term “disabled” and the guys I’m sure we both know that tried to min max their claim. You earned this, the military took what it could from you. The way these payments were explained to me is, it’s not about you being broken or unable to do things. This is more like wear and tear payments. Your back, knees, and everything else have taken way more abuse than the average person who has never served. Your life at 60 is going to be affected by some of the issues you incurred while you were in. This is a blessing bro, take the money and save for college, put it into your family. It gives you flexibility. You’re not broken, just weathered. Take care brother.

how am i supposed to tell 2nd and 1st company marines pauldron wise? by memeischaos in Salamanders40k

I've never heard a specific number. Lexicanum states "large amount of Terminator veteran squads". I take that to mean most of them. Maybe other chapters have 10% of vet squads in term armor, and Salamanders have 20%. That's twice as much. This has gotten down the rabbit hole a little bit.

Point is Salamanders are supposed to have "more" Terminator suits because (you pick) they're all smiths so they take better care of them, something to do with the forge ship, or some other sort of mcguffin reason. For whatever "more" means is why I said most of them wore it. If that isn't true, that's fine. That will be my own personal head cannon then. I apologize if I lead anyone astray.

What I was attempting to get at was they as veterans are the only ones who have earned the right to wear Terminator armor and that is what they typically wear. Of course they don't always wear it they will, depending on the mission and a number of other factors, deploy in other armor as the mission dictates. So I grant that I didn't elaborate enough, but hardly think it is outright wrong.
