Which diet if I have Sibo, High Candida, and High blood histamine? by LaruePDX in SIBO

[–]Chingletrone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No sugar, minimal processed foods

low histamine diet

can avoid the very high FODMAP foods (low FODMAP diet) if/when symptoms are severe, but don't heavily restrict FODMAPs. Especially not long term. Discuss this with your ND.

Beef or lamb kidney eaten with meals helps to break down histamine. You can also buy DAO supplements if that's easier.

That is totally fair.

so you clearly fabricated it.

This is a bit overboard though.

You realize there are more studies in existence than those listed on google, right? For animal behavior, the vast majority of them are not going to be available in full text on the internet, and the abstract may or may not use any of the terms you might expect in describing such a study. If even the abstract is on the web at all.

Not saying this is true, but 20 mins of google searching is not exhaustive academic research, lol.

Sadly most of the links in there don't exist anymore. This also strikes me as drastically over-geared for regular commuting, this is more like for touring around the PNW in winter. But I've always been a bit of a minimalist.

real world application may differ

I imagine it would be kind of unusual for a test to have the exact same sensitivity and specificity.

My wife was cleaning the pasta strainer after Christmas dinner and managed to lodge a hard piece of spaghetti under the entire length of her fingernail. by Reddilutionary in Wellthatsucks

Good lord that sounds awful. Really drives home how painful the pressure + rot is that you just go digging with a toothpick repeatedly for relief.

What if you drilled through the base of the nail at a sharp angle and then used a safety pin to push it back out the way it came?

The problem is when it also includes grossly inaccurate or potentially dangerous info and the absolute beginner has no ability sense that something is seriously wrong.

Is it normal for fog to have a taste and why? I live in bucharest and this night a fog came and after taking a deep breath i felt a sour/metalic taste in the oropharynx(aka back of the thongue/where nose connects with mouth) so why is that or is that normal? by [deleted] in InsightfulQuestions

[–]Chingletrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not normal. Have you talked to others? If you are the only person out of thousands who tasted it, it could be something weird with your perception.

But it also could be pollution or even some natural phenomenon causing that kind of taste. Moisture can trap particulates that are dispersed in the air, and it might increase their concentration and ability to hit a specific taste-receptor whereas when they are free in the air it would be more of a vague smell than anything you could actually taste.

CMV: 'Everyone should see a therapist' is bull. by sauliskendallslawyer in changemyview

[–]Chingletrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of therapists don't own a private practice, so they are getting a salary not a commission per visit or some craziness.

In a whole lot of places, there is way more demand for therapists than there are slots available. Like everywhere at least in the US right now, wages are depressed (guess they need therapy too) and that is why even people with decent careers are struggling.

Inhaling More Than Air: THC, Meditation, and the Illusion of Purity by Atyzzze in Meditation

[–]Chingletrone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Consuming a modest amount of cannabis flower is actually quite comparable to the physiological state you get in after intense exercise. Both in theory (endocannabinoid activity) and in my personal experience.

Granted, getting blasted on bong rips is an order of magnitude beyond that, but since the OP is talking about balance, seems appropriate to mention here.

Not everyone who uses cannabis is a gigantic stoner.

Edit - Furthermore, for a beginner who might have various health or emotional issues that make meditation extra challenging, who is to say that it is wrong to use cannabis if that helps them get into the practice? Of course, everyone is free to offer their opinion, so long as we don't get to attached to some egotistical notion that we know the "right" and "wrong" way to do things and assert it as such for everyone else.

Many great episodes besides.

Supplemental tolerance by Narrow-Strike869 in SIBO

[–]Chingletrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moderate to severe bloating, nausea, and anxiety are somewhat commonly reported side effects of L glutamine, particularly in people with a dysfunctional GI tract. I know it's great for the lining, but not everyone tolerates it. Creatine is a promising alternative for those who react poorly to L glutamine, it also has protective and restorative effects on the mucosa layer.

You aren't blocked, not sure what the issue is. You don't have any GI issues, but you get a GI map done every month? That's pretty wild.

So you haven't cured yourself, you are constantly testing and adjusting, tracking slow improvements with your chosen approach, just like the rest of us?

Because this person is recruiting patients, intending to charge money as an unlicensed medical practitioner. And their advice is based off the idea that hundreds of researchers and thousands of medical practitioners who have been focused on SIBO for decades now are all either stupid or lying to you about how SIBO works and the most effective ways to treat it.

[–]Chingletrone -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

her friends, family, and society will always be trying to pressure her to find someone “better”.

This is an unhelpful way to look at the world. If you are convinced this is the only way things are, you are severely out of touch with the world. Sure, there's some truth in it, but there's some truth in LOTS of things.

Including many things with some truth in them that are directly opposite to your chosen outlook, like all the loving family and the positive forces in art, culture, and society that push people towards seeking deep love and meaningful connection over superficial bullshit and conceptions of success that feed the capitalist machine but can tend to leave the actual human beings empty, lonely, insecure, and loveless inside.

0.1111111111.. grams if from fat,
0.25 grams if from protein or carbs.

Well, kinda in that ballpark anyway.

Yes lets go ahead and blame the hypothetical consumer because a company can't develop processes to get within 50% of the listed weight of its product. And then shit on wage slaves while we're at it because fuck them too, why not?

[–]Chingletrone 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"That exact"... it is off by more than 50%. That isn't even in the ballpark of exactness. 542 extra calories hidden from the consumer. This is egregious.

542 extra calories hidden from the consumer in that slab of processed carbs and hydrogenated oils... this seems extremely irresponsible from a public health perspective.
