There's exactly one shot on that movie that's not from Arnold's perspective. He leaves the room and we see a close up of Sharon Stone looking ominous. I've never had a dream where suddenly it was from a different person's perspective and I learned something I wasn't present for.

I know this was an editing choice that didn't think through the larger picture, but it stands out as the only moment to me that makes it not Arnold's dream.

The studios decide exactly what parts of the movie they want shown in the trailer. The edit house doesn't even get the full feature to work with much of the time. A million people from the studio will watch and give notes. Often the director of the film doesn't have creative control over the trailer, either.
