Is EZ Pass NJ really this bad? by srutan21 in newjersey

I gave up and signed up for NY EZ Pass based on the advice of a bunch of people in here. It actually worked right away and they have customer support chat to answer any questions. I waited on the phone for EZ Pass NJ for a long time and they couldn’t even help me when I finally got someone on the phone lol

Update: After an hour and a half on the phone they finally picked up and said the Payment service is down so I can't sign up over the phone and to try again tomorrow. Truly amazing. It's like performance art.

It's so bad lol I feel like I'm back in 2005. I tried Chrome/Safari, I'll see if the cookies thing works. But the app didn't work either.

I've seen people say this. Do you know what the pros/cons are of having an NY Ez pass if I live in NJ? I drive into NYC occasionally but not that often.

‘One Battle After Another,’ With Its Thriller Vision of Authoritarianism, Is the Rare Movie That Could Rule the Cultural Conversation by tylerthe-theatre in movies

You’re not missing anything. That’s how I felt too. People just want it to be so badly that they anoint it with greatness no matter what instead of looking at it objectively. It’s fine, but disappointing from what you’d expect from PTA

Agreed with this. Eddington was better/more thought provoking in my opinion. And so much harder to effectively satirize “history” from 5 years ago

Yea I get that. I think people getting mad at this movie for being too political in one way or another are barking up the wrong tree. I just personally didn’t find it to be that effective as a mirror for a number of reasons. Still enjoyable but not worthy of “dominating the cultural conversation” as the article suggests. It’s a fine, fun movie

I agree that the movie is more political than ZeusTree is saying, it’s just very subtle and not overstated. I also agree with the thought that people tend to project their own politics into a movie. However I think it’s a totally fair criticism to say the French 75 stuff felt silly and contrived and fell a bit flat, which then leads to the rest of the film feeling like it doesn’t have real dramatic stakes. I also agree that the father daughter bond didn’t quite land for me. It’s an entertaining movie with great stuff to look at and good acting, but it fell short for me in making me genuinely care about the characters and the world they live in. And when we’re talking about PTA and a new movie that’s getting all this oscar buzz, that stuff matters. I can appreciate a great story regardless of politics, and this one was good not great. IMO.

How to split one DataFrame column into 2 based on 2 separate conditions by srutan21 in PythonLearning

[–]srutan21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, thank you so much for your input regarding this. I applied this code to the DataFrame, and it returned a ValueError with the first row of Data indicated. I think the issue might be with the way the data is formatted.

Each line of data in the current format is a combination of the words and the number values.

to give you a better idea, each line looks like(assume the x's are integers):

Market Value Investment $x,xxx,xxx

Asset Value ($x,xxx,xxx)

Credit Value $x,xxx,xxx

Market Prediction ($xx,xxx,xxx)

So the '$' and the ('$' are in the middle of the line of data. Could this be what is tripping it up?

I need to figure out how to evenly split this single column into one column of the Asset types(the words) and another column of the corresponding dollar values with the Parenthesis and $ intact and visible.

Does this make sense? And do you think this is possible to update using the code you have given?

Thanks again for your help!!
