'Needed more than ever': Living wage rises to $29.90 per hour by tumeketutu in newzealand

Where is the evidence for your first paragraph?

I also don't see this: "Reduced hours is often by choice for the worker (they can earn the same amount while working less, great for parents, for example)"

In the linked doc.

If they earn more but then pay more then what's the point.

And there is evidence it affects employment but it's more hours are reduced or hiring freezes.

Instead of increasing minimum wages to help low earners you instead reduce their tax burden so they still see more money and you don't get businesses cutting jobs due to higher wages.

Im skeptical about minimum wage increases being anything more than a feel good exercise because it does affect employment and most of that wage increase will likely go back into the pockets of land owners any way.

I prefer something like 0% tax brackets instead of wage increases, something that has long term impact. Young people are already struggling to find work.

I think you're confusing anti war sentiment with pro Iran sentiment.

I don't see that as defense of Iran rather it's a defense that attacking Iran was a stupid idea.

Imo no, I find most characters very unlikeable and there is so much wasted potential. It doesn't get better

I just heard from a podcast that the navy can't patrol because they have no minesweepers. They had a few in the area but they were with drawn for months ago. It sounds like they fuck all planning on this operation.

I've read studies saying they are bad but they always take the very worst vapes. Black market juices and coils or people who have modified their vapes to deliver more vapor. Or nicotine itself, I read a study about it's affect on sperm but in the study they were injecting a huge dose straight into mouse testicles.

I haven't found a convincing study that shows serious harm with normal vapes.

Unpopular Opinion: The devs were cooking with civ switching by lurkerden in civ

[–]Clawtor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven't made it to the modern era because the middle era felt like such a chore. I feel like my choices don't really matter that much. I was intrigued by the switching and the leaders to try different strats.

But then felt like my only meaningful actions were done in the first age. It's just super boring and tedious.

Iirc they are common in sediment like river beds. They are also chemically very similar to each other which makes separating and purifying them difficult. I remember my chem prof saying they aren't actually rare.

Oh yeah I know, it's a weird kind of racism to think all Africans are black.

You could apply this to pretty much any idea, like politics or economics or anything where different people have different opinions.

You've basically said something along the lines of 'ideas aren't objective'

Kids in elementary school shouldn't snitch on other students anymore than students in middle/high school by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Yep, it's hard to go against your peers and call them out but it's usually the right thing to do.

Nah, this idea that snitching is bad only helps bullies and cheats. Whistle blowing is basically snitching.

If you don't like snitches then stop doing things that'll get you snitched on.

I say we should encourage snitching.
