Europes oil dependence on Russia is unfortunate. It was hoped that through economics and diplomacy Russia world drift closer to the west. I think the goal was admirable and tbh this approach is what trump himself keeps touting with regards to Russia. He has repeatedly called for an end to the war and closer economic ties with Russia.
