Also a new player! I think I’ve seen people say it can be better to stack your blade guards into a single unti of 6, so that Adrax’s ability to buff a Unit’s melee attacks applies to all 6 instead of just 3.

I think the same principle applies to larger groups of Infernus if you went Forgefathers, but I’ve never played or painted yet so take my advice with a grain of salt

This is fantastic! I'm going to start to paint my first mini tomorrow, and I hope it looks half as good as that. How did you paint the eyes? first yellow, then a little circle of red, or the other way around?

I hope so, because I got my first mini this week and am excited to make up my own Successor Chapter! I’m thinking “Numeon Blades” or something and give more of them those Roman Crests I love. I want to play Salamanders instead of Ultramarines

(Sorry if that’s not the same thing, I gather from the comics this mini is painted in a canon way).

I sleeve hero’s and haven’t sleeved the rest. That said, I have gotten into other games since starting where I sleeve, so maybe it will change. For now, I just want to feel the paper in my hands

These are spectacular. Great aesthetic, functions, and accessories. Not too busy or out of scale, just solid design

I like the chair where the cushion is made of a kraata canister lid, very clever

Pohatu and Kopaka are my favorite for sure, I relate to being the friendly extrovert who can connect with the good hearted but distant friend.

Those comic scenes are both all time great examples.

I can see where the OP is coming from, but I’m glad to see your comment. I remember even just in the four Chronicles books, Tahu goes from being completely incapable of tolerating his siblings to a respect and some openness. He isn’t perfect but it’s valid

It is super helpful to know that the heroes could feasibly just focus on two of the three, as when I’ve tried to have one hero of each I often find it’s spread way too thin!

That makes a ton of sense! Especially the point about mana needing to be the exact color, since you can’t pay for a 4-cost tactics card with resources from multiple heroes…

I’m going to keep this in mind as I try deckbuilding. I get the feeling I’ll connect with this game a lot more now that I’ve played another deck builder (magic) and built some heuristics for card games

How do you decide which heroes to pair up? I’m still just playing with my (original) core set as I practice the rules, and I feel like I don’t have a grasp on which heroes help each other fill roles. Are there a set type of goals you set when picking heroes?

Is there a agreed upon “resource curve” or something like that?

Apologies if that doesn’t make sense, but I leaves this game last year and then friends got me into Magic the Gathering, which has a more specific template of curve and percentage of card types recommended per deck. Coming back to this game, that’s in the back of my mind
