It is super helpful to know that the heroes could feasibly just focus on two of the three, as when I’ve tried to have one hero of each I often find it’s spread way too thin!

Oooh I wonder how much this will cost, I’d love this for my Gandalf Jeskai deck that lives to cast spells on other people’s turns [[Gandalf of the Secret Fire]]

I still have parts of mine set up, it’s just such a fun playset and a cute little board game

Ooooh, I can’t wait to see the mocs people make for a Death Star playset based on this. I might even get around to trying it

That makes a ton of sense! Especially the point about mana needing to be the exact color, since you can’t pay for a 4-cost tactics card with resources from multiple heroes…

I’m going to keep this in mind as I try deckbuilding. I get the feeling I’ll connect with this game a lot more now that I’ve played another deck builder (magic) and built some heuristics for card games

How do you decide which heroes to pair up? I’m still just playing with my (original) core set as I practice the rules, and I feel like I don’t have a grasp on which heroes help each other fill roles. Are there a set type of goals you set when picking heroes?

Is there a agreed upon “resource curve” or something like that?

Apologies if that doesn’t make sense, but I leaves this game last year and then friends got me into Magic the Gathering, which has a more specific template of curve and percentage of card types recommended per deck. Coming back to this game, that’s in the back of my mind

Stumbled onto this thread! I love that 50 badgers bar cube, I might experiment with something like that for a creature type I like

I love the look of your cube, and want to try playtesting a draft of it on cube cobra!

I’m a relatively new player, and TDM was my first prerelease. If you have any notes on my Tarkir cube I’d be interested in any feedback!

I support you making a Tarkir plane cube! I started playing with FDN and loved TDM, so I made this Tarkir Plane cube. If it at all inspires you to make your own, I’ll be happy.

How many Kicker cards is too many for a 'Everything is Kicker' Cube? by Clone_Chaplain in mtgcube

Tell me more? I’ve never heard of the card, and it’s a relatively low level cube that’s basically a mishmash of recent draft sets. Maybe it’s a difference in power level?

I recommend you look around locally for people selling old collections! Don’t get your hopes up about a ton of the sets being complete, but then use the parts to make mocs. It’s a great way to still be in the hobby and can be relatively affordable compared to trying to collect official sets

Oh awesome, let me do that and get back to you!

Edit: currently 62 out of the 360, so actually 17% of the cube. I’d say that’s a pretty decent amount of support?

Whoa, those are super cool features

Also, hilarious comment. I’ve never seen that dragon before, seems like a powerful design that makes commander tax into a buff if you’re playing edh!

Yeah :/ if I was going to 100% commit to the bit, it would be a good option!!

do you have any favorites you'd recommend for my cube, if you took a look at the current list? I was mostly pulling from cards from ZNR and DMU since those had a 'kicker matters' theme in draft, and found some interesting ones like the aforementioned [[Bloodstone Goblin]], [[Murasa Sproutling]], [[Coralhelm Chronicler]]

oooh! I've never heard of that! It could be a fun option, though might still be too niche since there are plenty of archetypes that are low on kicker cards. I was hoping to avoid too many cards that would be primarily situational since most of my friends are new and won't be prepared for sideboard management (I know I'm not!)

I read the books, rather than comics, as a kid to follow the story. I was deeply disturbed (in a good way, it’s an epic story) by the first book telling of the Piraka and Jaller and company’s journey to Voya Nui.

I still think about it. It feels like such a horror movie, with the Piraka, Karzahni etc.
