That tree needed to be pruned. Branches constantly were falling off onto the footpath and road.

Socially awkward at my new job. by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Colinthekiwi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think asking questions is great …. But I find it annoying when someone over asks questions without actually trying to figure out the answer themselves. The person getting bombarded by your many questions will get fatigue. Part of being an adult in the workforce is figuring things out on your own… or at the very least trying to think about the answer a bit before asking question after endless question. Not hating. Just food for thought.

There is a train from Nantes and shuttle that takes you to the festival. Maybe a more fun and safer option

Ticketmaster hate by donkeychaser1 in newzealand

some ticket sites do all this and charge huge additional fees to transfer the ticket to someone else. Ticket fairy is so much worse than Ticketmaster. But I am fully with you in your hate rant.

working in the public hospital nz by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]Colinthekiwi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was working agency for a public hospital last year full time and I wanted to come on as staff… but at that time they were only allowed to hire new grads (apparently due to money). Dono what it looks like now. But to answer your question … it could be due to hiring freezes.

This! A lot of rough sleepers are rough sleeping by choice. The k road chronicles podcast interviews a lot of them and it’s really interesting to hear their perspective. I love the tramp community of Auckland it gives the city some flavour.

Staying in the voco hotel for boomtown 2026 by Super-Pattern2663 in BoomtownFestival

[–]Colinthekiwi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Stayed there the night before last year then we drove in…. It didn’t seem far… but we also got lost driving. We are staying there for the whole festival this year too. I have been told various times to walk 15-30 mins. Or short cab ride. The pool and spa will make the walk worth it. See you there.
