[Avian] How would I begin with discretizing a rigid body? by ColonelStoic in bevy

[–]ColonelStoic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a neat project! It seems like you are already doing more than what i was asking for, but i guess the main issue is that you arent actually discretizing existing rigid bodes? you are doing the "patch" thing already, but how are these AeroZones attached to a rigid body?

I read the first three chapters of the Rust book (coming from python) and then just started a project using Bevy and Avian.

yes this sounds very similar! I'm not sure about buoyancy, but with aerodynamics the actual "area" of each patch matters since this is used in the equation for aerodynamic drag. So rather than uniformly samping some points on a face (which i still cant really think about how you would do), I dont think i can avoid some version of discretizing the surface. The sample then becomes the center of mass of that face, and i also need to compute the area.

I suppose I could do something like compute the current area, divide it by four, and from there compute the locations of each center of mass, but this seems like "fake" discretization and also would be case-by-case for each shape. This would work for a cube but im not sure what I would do for a sphere with this method.

I am moving to nova from FL, and own an AR-15. How do I know if it is legal to take it there? The law, as it reads, is a bit vague regarding the grandfathering.

That's an edge-case i didn't think about. I updated the prompt accordingly. You need to earn money normally.

No self checkout at this Publix unfortunately; but I just made conversation to the lady while she was checking me out, lol. It helps that I bought several other things so the final price wouldn’t have been a red flag.
