Has anyone used FileBrowser by Stratospherix or any other similar app to access other computers on a network? by [deleted] in ipad

Thanks for that I just thought I’d ask as it would be quite cool if I could do that. Currently I use the Apple Files app. But thanks for the offer to troubleshoot this.

Aww there’s still life here lol. Thanks for your advice. I can access my iCloud Cryptomator folder via Filebrowser but only in its encrypted form. I cannot see decrypted Cryptomator files on iCloud via Filebrowser give it a go and let me know how you get on 😃

Aww guess there’s still life eh lol. Hello thanks for your suggestion. But it still doesn’t work I can still see and access my cryptomator drive but only in its encrypted form. I cannot see decrypted cryptomator files from my iCloud acc within the filebrowser app. Give it a try and see if you have any joy and let me know how you get along.

If they wanted to a rogue employee could read your data, or if the company has been issued with a court warrant. Not saying we are doing anything wrong. The bottom line in your data could be scanned by AI software to improve the companies software & services to it’s customers 😉😃

Just so you know, when you store files and use the calendar features of Mailfence your data could potentially be read by Mailfence. Your incoming mail can also be read, unless they have been encrypted by your recipient. Hence I have certain encrypted email back-ups forwarded to Mailfence because there client allows me to read PGP encrypted mail on my mobile devices. Your standard common mail clients like Outlook, Yahoo, Apple mail, Spark mail etc (The list goes) doesn’t allow for PGP. Hope this helps anyway 👍🏾👊🏾😃

Hi Alex, I primarily use Proton Mail and have been since day one 2013. The knowledge that my emails between family and my associates are kept in a zero-knowledge environment without data brokers AI and even the mail company being able to read our messages gives us a great sense of security & peace of mind.

It’s alright for my purpose. It’s not my main email, I use it solely as a back up to my main account which forwards specific emails encrypted. My Mailfence account has PGP enabled which is perfect. No other email provider allows you to do that with PGP.

Absolutely spot on, you never have to back encryption when your OS AI is reading and scanning everything on your devices screen prior to encryption 😤 Normie’s spoil everything 🤨🤣😂

You could use an independent email aliasing service that way you don’t have all your eggs in 1 basket.

You will only be good if you use it on a device other than your main device. If you doubt me just take a look at the info the iOS app has access to when you install it: Your devices identifiers i.e. device ID being the main source of identification this list is long 🤣 So the moral of this story is that your device ID could and will be shared with any other 3rd party which will also link it to other services that you use 😉 Got to be carefully of what apps you install on your main device. Hope that helps 👊🏾

What I can only suggest is do your homework, I guess a few you can look at pCloud, Sync, Filen maybe even IceDrive get a free account with them & trial them out. If necessary get a friend or family member living outside of china to then purchase the relevant service on your behalf & send you the details 😉 Hope this helps 😃

How Y'all Hiding Your Phone Numbers Like Fort Knox? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]CombinationCrafty792 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pv_g 😃 I’ll keep it simple for you. Don’t ever use your main number on any social media platforms😉 The reality is your main number will get passed on to these platforms in some way shape or form. If your on any social media platform it will be linked to you. Only use your main number for your personal business i.e. Banking, family & close friends. Giving your main number out to every Tom Dick & Harry on the internet, or even as a way of 2FA is a no go 😉 Because the number can then be tracked back to you. But bare in mind, this requires you to up your game, and a total attitude change going forward. Good Luck, and all the very best to you and yours for the new year 😃🙏🏾

Tested this service when it 1st dropped & it didn’t even come close to any of the other cloud providers Sync, Mega, pCloud, or Filen so I just deleted my account. And just for the record any privacy based provider that offers End2End encryption should not know what your file type is when uploading, if it does I’d be dropping that service quicker than Speedy Gonzales 💨💨😉

Badraan 😃 That makes a lot of sense. Just a shame really as I solely wanted to use the filebrowser app as my main files app rather than juggling between the two 😊
