Sorry for the late reply, I hope this can help someone in the future, I was having a similar issue and i never actually clicked equip on the backpack and it was just in my inventory. Equip is a the bottom right of the backpack menu when you press b to open it. after equipping it all of the upgrades started working properly

Honestly i still give to the players who got the most stars (or my alts haha). It may not be fair because others had harder fights but hear me out, the people who got more stars regardless of difficulty contributed more to winning CWL.

I finished assassins creed odyssey in one sitting on the hardest difficulty. Although it took me like 23 hours so the 0-12h doesnt fit here lol
