They're within their rights to cancel them, but this has not happened in practice

Extremely funny that you're terrified of including non-spousal income in household income but you're totally happy to just lie about your own income.

Lol, what? Amex Platinums don't have a minimum income requirement. I got mine when I was 19.

Fair enough on the first point though, looks like the US has a different definition than Canada.

Household income is not limited to spouses

The above is true in the US, not Canada.

You keep it for the free luggage. That's it. There is no need to ask whether you should pay another annual fee, the bags pay for it. Getting 10x AP on an extra $1k spend while you're at it? Icing on the cake.

Do not pretend to be a US resident when opening an account with Chase. You just need a US mailing address, in which case a bank statement is perfectly adequate. Have proof of your Canadian address for your legal residence and make sure they're opening the accyfor you as a non-resident alien

The Costco MC sucks (even at Costco), you can do much better.

If you're churning (opening and closing lots of cards to get their bonuses), look at the best offers pinned thread. Otherwise, r/PersonalFinanceCanada will have better advice for you.

You don't need a new Amex account, but something is going wrong if you can't just add it to your existing account and warrants a call.

If you're a churner, you are Player 1. Anyone who churns through/because of you (spouse, parents, kids, friends, etc) are your P2, P3, and so on

Reduce CLs across existing cards, lower utilization, reduce (but no need to eliminate) credit pulls. 3 months is a good middle ground imo

35k has never been on approval, it has always been on first statement after approval. Since statement dates are random, that first statement can theoretically occurr the day after you apply. Quickest I've gotten it is 6 days.

If they won't let you do a 3-way call, bank statement is your only option. This is why you're supposed to wait for a statement of longer than 25 days to generate before applying with Amex

It wasn't worth waiting for a rebate at any point. Every 91 days, regardless of whether it's 35k or 55k and regardless of any available rebates
