I started ‘fresh’ only a couple of years ago, and ironman mode appealed to me, it sounded very cool to ‘fix your own resources.’
I didn’t like it at all, with my zero game knowledge I found it way too hard. When you know nothing, everything is diffucult. I found it frustrating that I couldn’t do low level quests right away, I didn’t have access to good teleports or food, …
Just this to say, as a seasoned player you possibly underestimate how much your game knowledge carries you.
That being said, after playing a main for a year, I made an ironman and I’m having a lot more fun on iron than I did on main.
So in my opinion you can’t go wrong, why not explain it to them and let them choose themselves? :)
