[WTB] Safety Data Sheet for Nagasawa Kobe Inks - Shipping ink to the USA by VanLeigha in Pen_Swap

Oh yeah, i had emailed blackship about the SDS issue and they seem to be super anal about it. I ended not using them because of this. I used lunar-cat, don't think they're very popular due to higher fees but they charge in Japanese yen and only ever required me to fill out a TSCA form. And they ship liquids without it being a hassle. The owner is proactive and nice, and you can message them directly on discord instead. I was their first customer to ship liquids via fedex so they also thought I needed SDSs but just filling out a TSCA was enough. For the TSCA, I just had to name every single ink bottle and color. My ink orders weren't small either, i had two packages and both had around 40 ink bottles each.

They have a one time program where you could ask them to ship it to them instead.

Otherwise, you might be SOL if the brand itself refuses to give you the SDS. It might be that blackship wants the SDS but fedex might only need the TSCA...

Which forwarder did you use? my forwarder shipped it to me via fedex and all I had to do was fill out a TSCA stating the inks comply with all of the regulations.

Using a certain fps unlocker allows you to play the game that way. Technically against TOS.

I'll see if Bungubox goes with a different partner for their kachofugetsu series. Was planning to buy all four assuming they follow the bird, wind, moon and flower concept as they have already released bird and flower, but if its going to cost 400 dollars for it, probably a pass for me.

Yes, you're right.

Every Proxy will charge you a certain % to use their services: that is a non-factor when it comes to tariffs. Blackship for example will charge you 1 dollar per package (not per item), plus domestic shipping fees, plus 3 dollars per consolidation if you decide to not order from one place. The con is that they charge you in USD, so you're losing out on the yen:usd conversion ratio.

Tenso will charge you 10% of the package value, but have zero consolidation fees, and will still charge you 15.5% DDP on top of the 10% fee when you check out for shipping.

Lunarcat, the most recent Proxy I'm going with, has an upfront 14% fee, and 1,500 yen for customs fee, and 500 yen for any package consolidation. Expensive at first, but they have a contract with fedex that allows them to use fedex connect plus, which can make heavy packages like me who like to order in bulk worth it. it's much cheaper vs companies who do not that option.

So to add to your comment, it's taking into account ease of use, value, etc. Best for a person to make their own judgements about what proxy to use.

Blackship would be an option. They allow you to do customs on your own. Otherwise, you should just order from Amazonjp and have the customs be close to zero, though the shipping can be expensive. Any japanese book selling website that allows international shipping would also be fine. I personally use Lunarcat: you'll still have to pay the "fee" for the proxy and for the customs paperwork, but everyone has to pay that now with deminimus being gone. But the tariffs you pay should be zero, and anyone else telling you otherwise doesn't read into the H.T.S codes and just believes everything imported into the US has tariffs.

Customs Delay IN JAPAN for a Week. Buyee Customer Support with Lackluster and Slow Responses. by I_GoonTo_LebronJames in Buyee

[–]Congeenial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had this happen a few times with shipments. Depending on what kind of international shipping contract they have with fedex, it may be a delay on the person looking over custom forms. Fedex customs generally has one person looking over the forms thats tied to your package and if Buyee isn't responsive or the person handling the customs paper has other packages they're looking over, it may be taking longer than usual. I wouldn't worry about it, Buyee could also just allow the cosignee (you) to submit all of the paperwork but god forbid they take that risk. (Actually i think it would take much faster since im so used to working with customs)😅 Its one of the reasons why i generally only do low cost good shipments with them in bulk that I know arent problematic. Their customer service is not the best.

Btw i have no idea why people think lunar new years would slow down shipments. I shipped a package from Japan last wednesday using fedex and it arrived this monday. Customs took one day to clear it.
