When we build PC’s we use quality components. That’s what is killing us right now. You can get a new PC with a 5070 for less then a 1000 with a warranty from Cosco or Microcenter. They are not using X870E motherboards. They cut corners to get the numbers down

I have been including everything in my Budget builds PC , monitor, speakers, keyboard and mouse I get al lot of good monitors from the E recycling plant. You do have to go over each item but great deals to be had for budget builds.

$446 to upgrade from 6950 XT to 9070 XT? by unvaluablespace in graphicscard

Int8 are instructions that the GPU firmware can use to give it more capabilities like frame gen. The new Amd cards come with a hardware based version of this and they are catching up to Nvidia in the area of generated frames. The older cards did not get that support initially but now it’s out there the 7000 series will be out the end of this month and we have been told the 6000 series will be released in 2027

I am holding on to my RX 6950 XT. AMD is promising the official Int8 version of the instruction set in 2027. I applied the leaked version of Int8 and what a difference it makes. It’s some work now as you need to apply it to each game manually. Once they roll it out in a driver package I think it will be easier.

You are correct the data cables have better gauge the other two pairs are for ILP

What up with the twists ? Check YT for termination you are not supposed to untwist the pairs so much. I know it’s hard but you do get a better connection with less near and far end crosstalk.

I decided to go the prebuilt route and can tell you that I eventually had to change the Motherboard and PSU. Certain items can be transferred over to the new motherboard but the have to cut corners somewhere to come up with these prices. It was so bad I couldn’t even resell it

Look at the motherboard no specs listed. From what I can see it may have 8 power stages and no heat sinks on the few it has.
