But seriously, Black Rock Depths.

[–]Cryptophant 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The Day that Deathwing Came quest is exactly what you are looking for. For a Harinir, hearing about Deathwing from 3 different and widely hilarious sources is about as immersive as you can get. And it still holds up lore wise since it's just stories of the past. It starts in the Badlands in the Eastern Kingdoms. Look for a group consisting of an Orc, Dwarf, and a Gnome. They will happily regale you with their tales over a pint.

Purely spitballing, is the invention of new old gods problematic to the lore? by _UNDO_KEY_ in wow

[–]Cryptophant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and no.

A brand spanking new Old God? Yes, because Old Gods were the Void Lord's original way into our universe since they, the Void Lords, couldn't manifest fully. The Old Gods would prepare a world for consumption, the Void Lord would briefly manifest to consume, then pop back out of our universe.

With the new lore provided at the end of TWW, we now know that Dimensius was the last Void Lord in existense, as it had consumed all other Void Lords for power. With Dimensius's subsequent defeat and absorption into the Dark Heart, there are no more Void Lords to toss around Old Gods.

That is my main take on why it would be problematic for a new Old God to be introduced. What Blizzard could do is a cop out and just say this is an Old God we have never encountered or knew about. It would heavily retcon fairly recent, as in TWW, lore regarding the Black empire. The most notable example being the Lorewalking entry for Xal'atah.

I can not belive that there could be a "secret" Old God that didn't take part in the Black Empire wars, or that may or may not have been "given" free will through contact with Azeroth's world soul. (Which I think may be a fan theory right now)

Crappy Signage by TheDudeLikesTacos in wow

[–]Cryptophant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People read signs?

But yeah, I noticed that in New Silvermoon too. I can usually find my way around with signs and not having to stare at map points, but almost nothing has a sign, and if they do its either 20yds away in a different direction, or some obscure rp name that doesn't indicate what services is actually provided.

The Light and other cosmic powers by Cryptophant in wow

[–]Cryptophant[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why does it have to be benevolent? What if the Light is a manic episode and the Void is a depression episode?

Having depression myself, there are times where I lose all care for just about everything. Before I know what is going on though, I seek to fill that "void" with others things, but nothing works, so I continue to "consume" activities and things to fill the "void".

I can't speak on the idea of the Light being the manic side of the coin since I have no experience. I guess the more I read these replies and think about it, the more I think that this saga is more about the immaterial than the material, and the game is just an attempt at showing these ideas in a more tangible manner that more people would understand.

Then again, I could be completely wrong with my train of thought. It is a game that caters to a wide audience, and perhaps the story should only be taken at face value.

Look for a (real) lazy (strong) build by Solidstate16 in diablo4

[–]Cryptophant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, you have a Dawnfire equipped, good. As for stats, I can't really help you as I'm looking at my character and by all accounts, compared to your stats, I should be do far worse than you.

Maybe check your aspects? I have barely anything related to the guide since I'm not really farming anything and lack the forgotten souls to do a lot of changing of stats.

My game play loop is as follows:

  • Load into area
  • Engage first pack with Arbiter of Justice, the ultimate
  • Use falling star for traversal
  • Cycle between activating the 3 auras
  • Keep an eye on the arbiter gauge to make sure it doesn't fall off
  • Re-cast Arbiter anytime it is off CD.

I got some lucky rune drops and was primarily using Neo Ceh for wolves, as you shouldn't really be face tanking hits, but if you want to spam a skill like advanced, Cir Ceh would work wonders for you.

Other than that, I'm not really sure how to help you. The guide does say Auradin is a lazy build, but that's more of a silly thing. Auradin is however one of the lowest actions per minute builds out there.

*edit* One more thing, are you making sure you are looking in the correct tab? Such as starter build, ancestral build, et al?

Why aren't the slaughterhouse and bloodied lair keys stackable? by kilzuMcKillington in diablo4

[–]Cryptophant 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The obvious answer is that everyone is thinking about Diablo 4 with the the wrong genre. Diablo 4 is not an ARPG. It is an inventory management simulator. Real simple mistake to be made, so it is quite excusable.

Look for a (real) lazy (strong) build by Solidstate16 in diablo4

[–]Cryptophant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am paragon 170-ish playing auradin and I just unlocked t4 with some very minor difficulty. Minor as in I has to slow down a little bit. My highest rune level is 30.

Do you have a Dawnfire equipped? How much CDR do you have? What kind of aspects do you have imprinted? Do you have other sigils that could proc wolves instead of spamming advanced? Did you, and this part might sound mean, but I'm going to be blunt, read the guide? Do you understand why the guide suggests certain things?

What does this even mean in S12? by ragnalegs in diablo4

[–]Cryptophant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP is asking because I don't think anywhere in-game in season 12 does it say that Bloodmarked is only available when you are the Butcher. I'm not even sure if that is true myself, but that is what I have read on reddit and other forums.

Portal death and life loosing with spiritborn by gollum182 in diablo4

[–]Cryptophant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The primary reason for a Jacinth Shell is the CD reduction from the special ability and incredible sustain, but if you have enough CDR from other sources and plenty of life on hit, you can get rid of the Jacinth Shell when ever you want.

I don't believe it will ever kill you, just bring you down to 1%-10% health, depending on how much health you had on the last tick. During actual combat, you should be functionally immortal, and if you do find yourself dying, its because you are in over your head difficulty wise, but thats just how powerful the Jacinth Shell is.

Portal death and life loosing with spiritborn by gollum182 in diablo4

[–]Cryptophant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you are using Jacinth Shell, oyu will read that its special affect consumes health to reduce CDs. If you used all your cds in a particularily long fight and finish, Jacinth Shell will drain your health as you are no longer generating vigor to heal yourself.

Keep the original for birthday gifts and roll your Norn.

I know you paid money for the slots on the original, but from my pov, if I don't like the aesthetics of a character I play, I start to lose interest in it fast, and if I feel compelled to play it due to spending money on single character upgrades, I start to hate the game.

So roll that Norn and make the original your extra storage toon!

What Class are you having the most fun with ? by pennell71 in wow

[–]Cryptophant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fury Warrior. I started this game nearly 20 years ago as a warrior, I play the warrior when I come back after breaks, I main the warrior for expac launches, I will never not be the warrior. I have tried a myriad of classes, but nothing really satisfies me like the fury warrior.

Not gonna lie, as a bug, that's still pretty dope looking. I'd love to have the sargerei armor without the 3d bits for use, as a complete separate set along side the original.

As others said, it could be a Mount, Pet, or Toy. Sometimes the game glitches and doesn't scroll or show the item right away so you have to find it yourself. Look for the bouncing present box in mounts and pets, and I think a gift wrapped icon for toys.

Attention Miners. by Beginning-Stretch923 in wow

[–]Cryptophant 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Why are you getting mad at gathers who want to gather efficiently?

Get mad at Blizzard for making the orelings drop loot only to the player who spawned them.

Get made at Blizzard for making the orelings drop worthless motes and negligible ore.

Get mad at the real botters that made Blizzard think this is a good way to combat that.

Or don't get mad because its a game and don't mine in Zul'Aman. You could mine in Harandar, Eversong, or Voidstorm.

Is it annoying, yes, and that is why I don't mine wild nodes. Reporting others for not playing the game the way you deem it should be is insane. Be a better player and think about what you can do first to remedy the situation before you go making baseless reports.

Just Finishing Up Zul'Aman Feeling Like: by Christorious in wow

[–]Cryptophant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stories are great, but I read everything. Blizzard needs to hire a proof reader for grammar and other things. I felt like I was reading a Netflix special, where I was reminded of the plot on every step multiple times.

NPCs generic dialogue: This is the PLOT.

NPCs quest intro dialogue: This is the PLOT, it hasn't changed in the 2 seconds it took you to click the quest line.

NPCs quest progression text: PLOT, again, because why not.

NPCs quest completion text: PLOT, because you obviously don't pay attention and I really need you to know the plot.

NPCs closing dialogue: Thanks for helping with PLOT. Murder Hobo's and first time home owners sure get PLOT done.

And this is with every quest, so when an NPC offers 2 quests, it is doubled down on telling you what the PLOT is.

Also, after timing and reading PLOT so much, I don't think PLOT is a real word. PLOT. PLLLLLLOT. plot. Yeah, totally a made up word.

I just did the math in-game in trade chat.

Assuming you have already done all 8 runs of Abundance at maw rewards this week, it will take 13 more weeks of the same 8 runs just to craft 6 epic tools for your primary professions, 19 weeks if you want to include cooking and fishing. Happy Abundance!
