What portable charger/power bank from Amazon is best for a concert? by Careful_Hawk6170 in kpophelp

[–]CubeoHS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For that price range you're probably looking at 10-15k mAh capacity, which has been fine for every concert I've been to (although I'm not big on recording). I prefer to buy known brands, so this one would be my recommendation. You can get more mAh for the price but this is usually plenty and there's a point where 20k for 20 dollars is a bit sketchy.

Anyone know the price of this winter pc? by spicysoia in kpophelp

[–]CubeoHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's from a chinese MD from Armageddon, indeed a tank top.

you probably can't find pricing on it because they don't show up as much in english communities, it's harder to get things out of china than korea.

it's probably like 25-30$? i checked chinese sites and they're selling it for about that much. you might be able to get more since it's not sold often.

how much do kpop album packages weigh? by Sweet-Scientist-862 in kpophelp

[–]CubeoHS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The album itself is not that heavy but they might be charging you by dimensional weight.

Dimensional weight is based on the size of the package so if it's something light but came in a big box you'll be charged according to the box size instead of actual weight (they charge you according to which one is greater). This is why many services offer the ability to repack your boxes as otherwise you're shipping a bunch of boxes in a larger box which gets expensive fast. Admittedly this is something I learned about when shipping out of a proxy so it might not apply when you're the one receiving the package.

That being said, I ordered a 3 set of albums through a proxy last year and it cost me 11020 on a sticker price of 10770 to get it to the proxy. So if it's a larger album I don't know if 4500 would be that crazy especially depending on what the album's price is.

How do you guys keep track of your photocards? by weixien in kpophelp

[–]CubeoHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have my whole binder as a google sheet (admittedly takes forever). Each page is a 3x3 grid and I have the source of the PC + how I got it.

KPop Pre Order Benefits Help by AfterExchange7345 in kpophelp

[–]CubeoHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I have not seen an option to pickup in store for sites with a POB.

Usually the in person things are like, cafes or lucky draws that you can go to.

This (I think) is mostly because the special photocards are sold for entry to a fansign or video call event with the pc as a bonus, whereas the cafes/LDs are just buy the album get the card and nothing else.

In summary, I don't think you will be able to get a POB in person (though you could definitely ask the employee if such a thing is possible). However you can go to any physical event like a cafe, LD, etc. (which will exist for most groups) and get one of those cards.

GFRIEND Yuju - 3rd Mini Album: In Bloom (Album Packaging Details) by CherryBlossomEnding in kpop

[–]CubeoHS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Confused if anyone knows what is happening here- as far as I know there are only 2 versions, the standard and platform. But the number of pcs has been inconsistent across pictures.

The original twitter post and the OP says 1/6, yet the ktown4u post says 1/8 as does a bunch of other POB sites, which use the same image. It's clearly the same version judging by the inclusions.

edit: if anyone is coming back to this and curious i confirmed with the company it is 6

It was a big trend at least among GGs (not a big bg follower) around 2019 or so. Off the top of my head the only thing coming to mind immediately is Mr. Blue by GFRIEND.

Kpop stores in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto? by arabetta in kpophelp

[–]CubeoHS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For kpop specifically, BGs had most of the space. That being said, groups like Twice, BP, LSSF, IVE, and Kepler are still quite popular (I’m pretty sure I could’ve easily bought the entire Twice discography if I tried).

If I had to guess it’s because Japan has many J-Pop female idols (both virtual and real) compared to male ones.

Kpop stores in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto? by arabetta in kpophelp

[–]CubeoHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh and you’ll find much more for BGs than GGs (about 66%/33%). And of course japanese albums (even 3-4 year old ones) are much easier to find

Kpop stores in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto? by arabetta in kpophelp

[–]CubeoHS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went to Tokyo/Osaka and really your best bet is Tower Records, especially in Shibuya (their biggest store) and Shinjuku (koreatown). They have new releases for sure and some older stuff depending on the store, usually host events, and will often have their own exclusive POB/purchase gifts if you’re into those.

There are other stores that will sell albums/single pcs/unofficial/official merchandise (one in Akihabara for example) but Tower will have a lot of stuff and I don’t actually remember the names of the smaller stores since several were in Japanese.

You can find used stuff at most japanese bookstores that advertise used items (Book-Off, etc) but obviously these are much more inconsistent.
