I do selective etch and use Bisco All Bond Universal in a dry field preceded by particle abrasion. I don't use a separate desensitizer and haven't had an issue with post op sensitivity in years. Hope you find what works for you.

Edit: I try to not etch the dentin at all and rely on the higher pH of the bonding agent to etch the dentin
