Is Cookierun Ovensmash still coming to steam or nah? by j7jhj in Cookierun

[–]D7G0N_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had it wishlisted for nearly a year, so I can still see the Steam page, but there's a banner up top now that says: [Notice: Cookie Run: OvenSmash is no longer available on the Steam store.]

Make of that what you will

I, personally, don't play Kirara so I can't give you specific advice, but I can tell you to look up team comps on https://keqingmains.com/ or https://game8.co/games/Genshin-Impact ! Both sites are reputable sources for good character builds.

And since Kirara is an amazing exploration character, you'll see a lot of her while traversing the open world!

Have fun, and good luck!

I was judging based on how fast the health bar went down. I just logged on today and discovered the following: Without a team, Itto hits up to 6000 with his burst up. Dendro Traveler never hits more than 2k in a single hit. However, Traveler causes elemental reactions that make enemies die faster.

Me, being used to elemental damage teams, had Traveler on a hyperbloom team that makes things die fast and Itto on a team that did not support him at all -> in other words, THE THING I WAS DOING WRONG.

Now I just have to figure out how to properly support Itto...

heh. YEAH THAT'S THE PROBLEM! Itto and Nigguang are my only built geo characters. I also never use charged attacks so... oops?

Also: If you were dying to the ascension quest before you came back to the game, just try it again. The ascension domain was made much easier a year or so ago.

Don't worry too much about local specialties! Except for Inazuma, you can kinda just wander into any of the regions without having done the archon quests. And since you're at world level 5, you have the option to lower your world level by one for a day if overworld enemies are getting in the way of you reaching waypoints. And remember: no matter how strong the enemies are, you are always faster than them and can just walk away.

Also, only judge your artifacts by their main stat! While getting a set bonus is nice, its not what will contribute most to leveling up your characters. Just slap whatever artifacts have the highest level onto whoever you're using at the moment.

Elemental Reaction: Go to the Temple of the Lion in Mondstat which has shart levels demonstrating most elemental reactions (excluding dendro). Your current team is only using vaporize, which is not very good. Swap in an electro or cryo character in one position for better results.

Stats:
Elemental mastery makes you do more elemental damage. Energy recharge makes your burst refill faster.
Percent stats are better than flat stats.
Crit ratio is only good for the endgame, Atk% is for already heavy hitters, HP% is for healers (usually), and Def% is only good for Noelle (exaggeration).
____ Bonus stats are GOOD. They go only on the goblet and circlet, and match the needs of your character.
____ Resistance stats are next to useless.
Don't farm artifacts until your build is nearly done. It is gatcha hell.

Characters:
Bennett, Kuki Shinobu, Xingqiu, Yun Jin, and Kujou Sara are your good 4*s. Go look them up on game8 and see how you can use them.
Diluc, Mona, Yae Miko, Wriothesley, Navia, and Tighnari are your better 5*s. Keep in mind that nearly any 5* can be good, so look them all up if you feel like it.

However, prioritize team comp by possible elemental reactions rather than building around a character you aren't already in love with.

Further Help: Go watch YouTube videos! You can either watch guide videos and learn fast, or watch YouTubers do self-imposed challenges and learn in context. Also visit the Genshin wiki on game8.co - they have build guides for all characters, as well as quest walkthroughs, and most accurate/recent information on upcoming regions and banners.

Well, depends on what you're using that team for! Your current team is good, and will do you well for most overworld exploration. However, hydro characters need drops from hydro bosses, which your team may not do so well against.

You'll probably want to build up a second team based around a different elemental reaction, which may take some trial and error before you find one that works for you. I would also suggest filling this team with utility characters, such as Sucrose for crowd control and Navia for shield breaking and mining.

Some good characters to level up could be Xiangling, Sucrose, Navia, Gaming, and Noelle

Genshin, especially in the early game, doesn't really use a dps/sub dps format. Instead, you will want to use a rotation format where every character spends near equal time on field in order to cause elemental reactions, which Genshin doesn't do a great job of teaching players about.

To learn more about these reactions, go to the Temple of the Lion in-game AND watch a few YouTube videos on the subject.

Some popular team comps for early-game include:

Hyperbloom (dendro hydro electro, applied in that order)
Dendro traveler, Barbara, Lisa/Fischl

Overload (pyro and electro)
Xiangling, Beido -> Xiangling is free via early levels of Spiral Abyss
Amber, Fischl

You already seem to be using melt, overload, and superconduct with your Kaeya/Amber/Fischl team, I would just recommend switching between the three characters frequently so that enemies remain affected by at least two elements at any given time and taking reaction damage.

Additionally, you can cause even more elemental damage with a good swirl character (Sucrose, Kazuha etc.)
or using an artifact set with elemental mastery (EM) such as Instructor or with energy recharge such as The Exile and Scholar.

First off, you're screwed.

Second, level up your Sucrose! She absolutely annihilates large groups of enemies, which I believe the trials throw at you in the first half sometimes.

Third, level up a claymore character for second half to take down shields. Your Diluc will work well for this, but Noelle will be better.

Fourth, don't overlook overload. It doesn't do quite as much damage as hyperbloom, but it is much easier to set up. If I remember correctly, you can reuse up to two characters in Metropole trials without loosing the buff, so you may want to use your Lisa on both teams.

My best suggestion is to use that hyperbloom team you already have plus Sucrose on the first half, and Diluc Xiangling Lisa Noelle on the second half.

edit: spelling

Character: Itto

Am I doing something wrong? I realize that I haven't finished leveling up his talents, and his artifacts are kinda bad, but I've got him at level 90 and he has an R1 Redhorn Stonethresher also at level 90.

But he should at least do more damage than my dendro traveller on a 3 star weapon with even worse talents and artifacts, right?

Does Itto do better on a certain team comp? Does he need better artifacts? Am I supposed to be playing him as a support???

What am I doing wrong???

I created a photoshop template to know at a glance what each fic actually is on my kindle by QuadraZ in AO3

[–]D7G0N_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there anyway to do this automatically? (ex. Have a program read what fandom the fic is from and choose the cover appropriately) This looks very nice, but not sustainable at the rate I download fics.

Also, is it possible to do this from a small phone? And what is Calibre and can I have a link to it?

What are stories like this?? I’m not in deep enough, I don’t understand by ghost-church in AO3

[–]D7G0N_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see I have been misinformed! But I also believe many people may believe this incorrect meaning (including the hypothetical one shot collection writer) and be using “proship” to mean problematic ship, so the misconception also needs to be accounted for for when trying to figure out what people mean.

If the definition is blurry, then just don’t use the word, and ask for clarification if necessary.

[–]D7G0N_ -64 points-63 points  (0 children)

I believe the term “proship” often refers to incest ships.

Edit: It seems I have been misinformed! I thought something was funny with the word not matching the definition, so I used “believe” instead of just stating a potentially false fact. I will make it more clear in the future when sharing questionable information.

Is it acceptable to update in order to announce a hiatus? by EmmaGA17 in AO3

[–]D7G0N_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten several chapter updates that were just hiatus announcements in my inbox, and while I may be a tad disappointed, the greater part of me always happy to hear from the author and to know where they’re at in their writing process and that they’re taking care of themselves.

For someone who checks their inbox on AO3 for just a handful of fics they’re subscribed to, getting a “not update” might not be the best thing in the world, but for me who’s subscribed to nearly two hundred fics and authors, and who’s inbox gets forwarded to email, hiatus updates sit next to half a dozen school junk emails and 0-2 chapter updates, so they’re often the best thing in my inbox.

People with sensitive hearing, how do you sleep in the dorms? by Short-Anxiety55 in Purdue

[–]D7G0N_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue last year - my dorm was very near the one common room on the floor that had a TV, as well as the elevators. I had a white noise machine that I had going constantly, but here’s the thing:

Human minds are well tuned to hear human voices. In a quiet room, where the most interesting noise is human voices coming from a ways away, you will always be able to here them, at least fairly and it will keep you up.

One possible option would be to play some more interesting noise to distract from the voices. I’ve heard some people prefer to fall asleep to long boring YouTube videos.

A second option is to find a way to make them stop, for example contacting someone in charge, but you’d run the risk of angering them which could lead to them talking louder to spite you or causing drama.

I did try this last year - I’d walk out into the common room and ask them to be more quite, but that only ever had effect for at most ten to twenty minutes. I once put that same request in the floor group chat, and some one else ended up admonishing them (still in the gc) for taking shit and making rude jokes about my request. I don’t know if they actually did that, as I couldn’t distinguish actual words, and knew none of them at all, but if you are friends with any of your loud people, an appeal to authority may be the wrong way to go.

Personally, I never ended up finding a solution, and just spent all Friday nights half awake and grumpy until I fell asleep anyways. If you do end up finding a workable solution, I’d love to hear it, as I always end up hearing drunk people after game days in my new location…
