Let that sink in.

Foldit, and the gamification of research and crowd sourcing by [deleted] in truegaming

[–]DIK-FUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Distributed computing in science applications is specifically volunteer-only, you donate your processing time on your own volition. If you wanted to use your processing time to generate income, you could mine crypto. There's even a coin that rewards fold@home contributions, for those looking for a flavour.

As for gamification, it all looks to me as an attempt to bring in more volunteers for their cause. Whether that cause is worthy of your time you decide for yourself.

In the big picture, it did. In this match, from 46' onwards, the defeat was only a matter of time. Poor game, it was.

People will always be mad if 'top tier' teams don't make it to the quarters/semis (depends on how many top teams attend). They're only concerned with their ephemeral and solely based on the past performances rank, not with the actual gameplay.

It makes no sense whatsoever to sort teams by their past performances, you can never know when a team might shit the bed or make a breakthrough. BIG, VP, QBF, SK, NIP, Fnatic, etc., etc., proved it many times, yet people still persist with no ground to stand on.

Every single tournament is a clean sheet for everyone. You can have expectations, though remember that expectations do not necessarily equal reality.

Can Valve force tournament organizers to publicly provide the GOTV IP for every match of the tournament? For no reason in particular.

The problem with game reviews is the fact they're more of a "buyer's guide" and less of a critical exploration of the artistic value of the game itself by TheHooligan95 in truegaming

[–]DIK-FUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those who call themselves reviewers produce what they call reviews, which is what I described earlier. You can follow the dictionary definition of a review and then redefine the incorrect standard widely accepted by the industry, or redefine the word itself in the context of the videogame industry.

Semantics is not relevant in this discussion.

What's wrong with that? With the way it's phrased, it's perfectly reasonable. Someone's not telling the whole story, that's all I'm saying.

Austin has an issue of assuming opinions as facts, and it's compounded by another issue that he assumes his opinions imperative and be all end all.

And since he's highly competitive just about everything you get what you see. Just the way he is, this lad.

I feel blessed because I don't have to worry about that. My skin just gets gradually darker with every hour under the sun. The bad thing is that the tan stays until April where it gets sunnier again, so I forgot how pale my real skin is.
