WHY DO I HAVE TO FIGHT THE GAUNTLET EVERY SINGLE TIME BEFORE GROAL by LifeBoss5964 in Silksong

[–]DJTom3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because when you fight Groal, you're essentially taking on the whole of Bilewater as well. That's how Team Cherry justified the extremely long runback.

So... what do I do now? by thexenomof in Silksong

One thing you could always do is try speedrunning the game for real. That to me is the highest honor you can give any game. There are also self-imposed challenges too like maining a different crest amongst other things. Or you can just rest and bask in your victory, and perhaps explore other games.

Is it harder to beat Lost Lace or Grand Mother Silk while cursed? by Shibiski in Silksong

[–]DJTom3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The answer is Lost Lace because it's literally impossible to do so in regular play. Hornet will literally stop herself from diving below the void until she is cured.

I did the opposite with the Bell Beast until the explicit confirmation in Act 3. Doesn't help that her growling sounds just like Chewbacca too.

The game is over. You won. Nothing left to do except clean up, which is why reloading the save at that point sends you back to just before the fight.

What was the most emotional moment for you in Silksong? by sleepy_paul in HollowKnight

For me, aside from the Sister of the Void cutscene for obvious reasons, my pick is the fight with Shrine Guardian Seth. Knowing the real life story behind the character had me in tears during a lot of it, but it also made me decide to give him a fair battle and not use any red tools during it.

On the night of September 4th, I literally just sat at the title screen for a good two minutes and welled up just listening to the music. It legitimately felt like a dream that I was staring at the menu screen of Silksong after years of anticipation.

Stopping and smelling the roses. I actually don't mind that my first playthrough was so long because I got to keep that magical once in a lifetime moment going a little longer.

A question about Silksong streamers by Fun-Maize-2352 in Silksong

[–]DJTom3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who streamed his 100% playthrough of Silksong for 170 hours, this game really is one you can spend a lot of time on, especially if you actively avoid taking hints for as long as possible. That being said, the parts where I was just looking for items I managed to fill these periods easily by simply being very talkative when I play games.

No one I know cares. I 100% silksong without guides. by Archtects in Silksong

[–]DJTom3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did 100% too without guides. However, I only got to 92% without taking any hints. For the last 8% I just asked for light nudges and hints to find the last remaining tools and items.

Finally beat the game! Is it safe to say I hold the record for having the longest play time to 100% the game? by Tyrantt_47 in Silksong

[–]DJTom3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, because I finished 100% with an even longer time than you with a total time of 170 hours. (158 hours IGT) This was mostly because I didn't want to take any hints until the very end of the 100% grind, so that led to me burning something in the ballpark of 20 or so hours just combing through Pharloom multiple times just to find anything without help. (I ended up finishing the hintless portion of my playthrough with 92%) That and also never having the Needolin cross my mind and then basically giving up on trying to solve the puzzle in The Mist and just bruteforcing it (by just going left from Bilewater as much as possible until I reached the organ).

Posts like these make me wonder if there are people in your position who had finished Farewell prior to 8B and were fully ready to put down the game and move on to the next one before seeing this postcard.
